Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 6/26/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. We approach your throne today, Oh Lord, as humble sinners. There’s hardly a day that goes by where an evil thought doesn’t enter our minds that must be immediately cast out and replaced with righteous thoughts and praise to your Holy Name. We long for that time when we will be completely free from the old sin nature that likes to raise its ugly head against the Spirit. As the war rages on, we also have to deal with the outward attacks of the enemy through the foolishness of others captured to do his will. As darkness covers our land and the enemy knows that his time is short, it makes it all that more difficult, but we believe that we shall overcome and one day and sit down with you in glory. We are saddened when we run across those who claim your Name and boast about their supreme knowledge, perfection, and deliverance from every sin and its temptation. We feel that Satan has bewitched them leading them down a path to greater immorality. Please open their eyes to the truth. We pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

PRAYERS FOR THE LAST WEEK,  IN CASE YOU MISSED ONE

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 6/25/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. Although the world can bring forth a cessation of hostilities, it has no power to bring forth true peace in the hearts and minds of the people. Although the world can promise peace from the ravages of anxiety, depression, and hundreds of other psychological problems by administering their counsel and drugs, it cannot bring true peace to the hearts and minds of the people. Although all the other world religions can promise peace with their god through rigorous discipline and obedience to their laws, it cannot bring true peace to the hearts and minds of the people. We thank you Lord that you have given your beloved children true inner peace from every psychological problem, from the constant temptations from the old sin nature, and most importantly a lasting peace with our loving Father in Heaven. Through every suffering and hostile force brought against us, we have an inner peace that the world doesn’t understand. Thank you for your beautiful peace that gives us the assurance that you will always work things out for our best, delivering us from fear and neglect. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Oh, Lord, we come ever so humbly before you, seeking your direction for our lives. Let us not stumble around in the darkness of this world trying to find our way. Allow us to see the light of your glory and feel the hands of your Spirit guiding us through the many pitfalls in this life. Above all, we pray that we will not “kick against the pricks.” That is, we pray that we will NOT fight against your gentle leading causing us greater difficulties in this life. Lead us to understand and obey all of your beautiful commands so that we will not suffer the consequences of our disobedience. We pray that you will give us ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to us so that we won’t miss His directions and find ourselves fighting against You. We know that your dear children suffer greatly in this life because they refuse to let the old sin nature die. We pray that we will not fight against what you are wanting to accomplish in our lives through transformation in Christ. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks” (Acts 9:5).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 6/23/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. Oh Lord, help us to stand against the evil in our day. To see what has come out of the closet and into the open for all to see deeply grieves our hearts. We cry out for our precious children who are being affected by this evil at such a young tender age. So, we ask that you please show us again how to stand against this wickedness. In our spirit we sense again that we must come out from amongst them and be separate; to let the evil world see what goodness looks like. Your goodness turned the world upside down over two thousand years ago. We pray that we will all follow this Way of truth and holiness and do the same in our day. Help us to defeat evil with good. Help us validate our words with our actions, only then will our words have power to break down walls and enact change. Let us walk always as true children of light, for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true. We pray this in the most Holy Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Therefore do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light” (Ephesians 5:7-8).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 6/22/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you, Lord, for the many blessings in this life but the greatest blessing is yet to come. When we think of this future blessing of being set free from the many struggles in this life, it brings us tears of great joy. No longer will we need to struggle against the old sin nature, that wants to raise its ugly head in retaliation against others. No longer will we need to struggle against the powers of darkness and the devil who put evil thoughts into our minds. No longer will we need to struggle against the many afflictions and diseases that come against our frail bodies. We look forward to the complete transformation of our lowly bodies to be like your glorious body, when you, our blessed Savior, returns from heaven. We know that you will accomplish all this with the same power that enabled you to raise from the dead and subject everything to you. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for the hope that our citizenship is already in heaven proved by our blessed conversations with you through the indwelling Spirit. We pray this in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself” (Philippians 3:20-21).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 6/21/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. Our greatest desire as your children is to do your will here on earth just as your will is being done in heaven. So, we thank you for teaching us that we can discover your good and perfect will by no longer being conformed to this world but being transformed by the renewing of our minds. We thank you, Lord, for teaching us that your express will is to be filled with the Spirit and not by any other intoxicating substance, such as drugs and alcohol. In fact, to obey all of your beautiful commands is doing your will on earth as it is in heaven. Praise God, that they are all predicated on love. Of course, we also know that the world will mock your children for having such a tremendous desire to do your will because they have immersed themselves in the ways of the world and have enjoyed its intoxications. So, we pray for all of your children to stand firm and not waver from the truths that you have taught them in the Bible and confirmed by the indwelling Spirit. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 6/20/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. We cry out to you in great agony today in how we see our nation sinking deeper and deeper into the grossest of immortality. It’s getting more difficult every day in our attempts to guard our eyes from the immorality in our world. Misguided people are more than happy to flaunt their evil before the world not only for us to see but also for our dear precious children to see who are still in their innocence. Everywhere we turn these days from going to the market, to a shopping trip downtown, to opening social media, there it is up front in our face. Why do people think we need to see the bad in the world? We don’t need to see the half-nude homosexual on the streets of America to know that it exists. We pray that you will help us to guard our eyes knowing that this is the devil ‘s scheme to lead us into evil. We pray that you firmly rebuke those, especially those who call upon your Name, from sharing these wicked images on social media. We pray this in the most Holy Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me” (Psalms 101:3).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 6/19/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you, Lord, for teaching us to wait on you to lead us in our prayers. So, I simply wait for a Word from the Lord before I proceed, either a word, a phrase or an actual verse from Holy Scripture. Even the word or phrase must then be tied back to the Holy Scriptures. This morning I received the phrase “cross-cultural contamination,” which brought me to our verse for today. In Christ, there is a new culture. Everything we say and do, including our likes and dislikes, and even our dress is being conformed to a new culture in Christ. Yet, we have discovered, Oh Lord, that the modern-day believer is being conformed to or contaminated by the world’s culture through their schools, their media, their movies, and now their social media. We pray that we put off the old man that’s being polluted by the world’s changing culture remaking it into the image of the best or the Antichrist. We pray that we are renewed in the Spirit of our minds by learning how to think our thoughts after you. We pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind” (Ephesians 4:22-23).
