Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 4/25/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. We have discovered Lord, that when we tell people what we believe and what we stand for, especially if it’s against what most others believe, then it causes us to be ridiculed, mocked, or even persecuted. This has been especially true when we speak about the sufficiency of Scripture to deal with every emotional and psychological problem. Oh Lord, you know how difficult this can be because most of us want to be liked and accepted by others. Most of us want to fit into the social fabric of our communities and be recognized for our accomplishments. We pray that we will respond appropriately to all this evil spoken and done to us. Let us not lose who and what we claim to be by fighting back or becoming obsessed with revenge. On the contrary, lead us to always turn the other cheek, go the extra mile, and respond in love. Moreover, remind us not to water down our beliefs by agreeing with the lies of those who are coming against us, so we don’t lose our blessing. Help us to stand firm. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you” (Matthew 5:11-12).

PRAYERS FOR THE LAST WEEK,  IN CASE YOU MISSED ONE

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 4/24/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. That is the key, isn’t Lord, that we must be persecuted “for righteousness sake,” and not for squabbling over the non-essentials of our faith or by fighting back unrighteously. Sometimes it might be hard to fathom why anyone would want to persecute those who live righteously, to be loving, forbearing, selfless, and obedient. Yet, we know that it’s been done throughout history by those who judge us, not on our loving actions, but on our unchangeable beliefs. It’s rather sad, Lord, that these persecutions typically always come from others who claim to have the truth. We pray that we will never claim to be persecuted for anything less than standing on the major tenets of our faith. Let us always stand firm on the infallibility of the Bible, the sufficiency of Scripture, and the exclusiveness of Christianity by lifting our heads high with a blessed song on our lips. Although persecution can end our life abruptly, we have the promise of the Kingdom of Heaven. Let us never cower but rejoice greatly that we have been counted worthy to suffer for our King. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:10).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 4/23/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. Oh Lord, we come humbly into your presence today, asking that you show us how to be true peacemakers. Teach us how we can make peace without relaxing those things we believe in and would be willing to die for under the cross of persecution. We believe there is only one God and that you have given us everything we need for life and godliness. We believe there is only one path to you and our future estate in heaven, which is through your divine Son, Jesus Christ. We believe that He died, was put into a tomb, and was raised from death to forgive all of our sins past, present, and future. We believe through faith; we are new creations being transformed from one degree of glory to another. Beyond all this, help us to hold to our other convictions publicly but without dividing over them. Help us to always work for peace and reconciliation through mutual love and respect. Lead us to never be argumentative or judgmental especially on the minor points of our beliefs. We pray that we will always refrain from bashing the other side or lashing out in critical posts. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God” (Matthew 5:9).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 4/22/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you, Jesus Christ, for opening the door to a brand-new life in you through belief in your death and resurrection from the grave. You have given us a life of endless possibilities to not only walk righteously on the outside but to also see our hearts completely transformed into absolute purity. While man looks on the outside, Father God, you truly look on the inside correcting our motives, our intentions, our imaginations, our selfish desires, and our every thought, making us into the perfect image of your beloved Son, so that we can be brought into your glorious presence. Although the journey is long as you transform us from one degree of glory to another, we are greatly blessed every step of the way knowing that we can come now into your glorious presence through Jesus Christ. You, Oh Lord, have made it possible not only to see you but to see the Father through the eyes of faith. You once said, “he that has seen me has seen the Father.” Thank you for coming to earth and making yourself known to us. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 4/21/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. When Jesus Christ rose from the dead, it immediately validated everything He said as being the absolute truth with no mixture of error. No other world religion can make that claim. We pray Oh Lord, that we will receive all of your teachings as the gospel truth, even the more difficult ones, that many in our day want to explain away by manipulating and twisting Scriptures. We are especially mindful of one passage of Scripture today that most have discounted by saying it doesn’t really apply to your beloved children, because we won’t be living on the earth at that time. Then my question, Lord, is why did you bother telling us if none of your children will be living here at the time? So, I must believe that your words are true and that we must prepare in every age to undergo the greatest tribulation that will ever descend upon the earth. With each passing age, we can imagine an even greater tribulation. So, we pray that you help us to stand firm by trusting in you alone for all of life. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matthew 24:21).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Oh Lord, help us to be more like you. You have given humanity such a long time to repent and accept you as Lord. You have been so patient with us, always going the extra mile, giving us every opportunity to see the light. Even when we were rebellious you kept us from falling too far, while you once again extended your mercy. We know that we broke your heart many times causing you to weep Heavenly tears. We want to have that kind of mercy for our fellow man. Lead us to also have emotional pain in our hearts when we see others suffering. We sincerely desire to relieve their pain by giving them good counsel, sincere love from our hearts, gentle admonishment for their sins, and a helping hand to lift them out of their pit of misery. We want to be merciful to others as you have been merciful to us. We thank you for always showing us mercy and also for the blessed mercy that we have received from others. Oh, what joy it is to give and receive mercy. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy” (Matthew 5:7).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Praise you Lord for all of the eternal truths passed onto us when you walked on the earth in the flesh. You had the power of the universe at your disposal but chose meekness by keeping this great power under control to change the world forever. Thank you for the tremendous blessings given to your beloved children who also learned this meekness by keeping this great heavenly power under control as they walked upon the earth extending your ministry beyond what they could have ever imagined. We know now that this was only possible by total and complete submission to you as Lord. Realizing that we can’t do anything on our own, we have learned meekness, which is keeping this great heavenly strength under control by waiting on you and only following your lead. Only then can your children who are meek expand your territory by bringing more lost sheep into the fold of your love, protection, and eternal salvation. We pray that all of your children will also desire to become meek to receive the promised inheritance of the earth. We pray this in the powerful Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 4/18/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. There is a much deeper pain that many of us are reluctant to talk about. It’s not the physical pain that many of us must endure from time to time, no it’s even much deeper than that pain. It’s a pain that drives us to deeply and desperately mourn in the morning, noon, and night. It is the pain of sin, its overwhelming conviction, and its heartfelt sorrow. For we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Our sins are as filthy rags polluting every fiber of our bodies. Then there is the earnest weeping as our tears flow relentlessly down our cheeks under the heavy weight of conviction that we have sinned against our God. As sorrow finally turns to repentance then, and only then, do we feel the loving comfort of God’s forgiveness washing over us. Oh, what joy it is to be finally forgiven and feel His loving comfort. Truly there is no greater joy than the forgiveness of our sins and our acceptance by our Holy God. Thank you, Jesus, for your death and resurrection. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted” (Matthew 5:4).
