Subject: “Help Us to Listen During Our Prayers”
Good morning Heavenly Father. “Everyone is talking but no one is listening.” Teach us, Oh Lord, how to be good listeners. We want to hear what the Spirit says to the Church, for we are the Church. Please show your beloved children how to empty their minds during prayer and meditation so that they can hear your still small voice. Teach them to immediately cast out every vile and evil thought. Then lead them to cast out every worrisome thought, every past memory that the mind loves to dwell on, and finally every conscious thought about their surroundings. Teach them how to listen, to really listen to what the Spirit says. We can’t even imagine starting another day without listening to you first, allowing you to direct our day, to give us our marching orders for the day. When we listen to only your Spirit, we have discovered that our days are much more productive, they bring glory to you, and bring tremendous joy to us, your servants. Thank you, Lord, for speaking to us through the indwelling Spirit that gives us purpose, direction, and necessary warnings. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Revelation 2:29).
PRAYERS FOR THE LAST WEEK, IN CASE YOU MISSED ONE
Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 6/5/2023
Subject: “Pray Without Ceasing”
Good morning Heavenly Father. What a tremendous privilege we have to pray at all times, knowing that we are not just speaking to ourselves, but speaking to you, the Lord of glory. What tremendous joy it is to realize that you answer our many prayers throughout the day as precious little miracles demonstrating your magnificent love for your beloved children. In every prayer from the prayers of intercession for others, to the formal prayers written out for the encouragement of others, to our private prayers to you as our spirits cry out in great joy or painful agony, you always answer our prayers. In every situation, your indwelling Spirit leads us to pray as we ought. Praise God. We couldn’t live without our lifeline of prayer that encourages us, strengthens us, and gives us the confidence to face every trial or tribulation. We can’t even imagine the great loneliness without the God-given ability to pray, giving us an opportunity to speak to you through the indwelling Spirit twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. We don’t see this as a command but as a great privilege. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“Pray without ceasing” (I Thessalonians 5:17).

Subject: “Bear One Another’s Burdens”
Good morning Heavenly Father. Oh Lord, teach us again how to pray for your wayward children who claim to know you, who have grown up in the Church, and are acquainted with many of your teachings, but resist in walking close to you or allowing you to completely transform their lives. They struggle with a great many sins and have become experts at hiding them while in our presence. They struggle greatly with the consequences of their unconfessed sins which deeply saddens us. So, we lift them up to you today and ask that you continue to bring forth your conviction and lead us not to be fault finders but to continue being an example. Lead and help us to continue to be an example of the joyous, peaceful, and righteous life in Christ. Lead us, Oh Lord, to always give wise counsel from your anointed Word. Help us to bear their burdens through self-giving love, going the extra mile, turning the other cheek, and by not judging their every word or action. Help us to be available for all of your beloved children who are struggling in today’s world governed by the powers of darkness. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2).

Subject: “Let Us Lift Our Voices in United Prayer”
Good morning Heavenly Father. Oh Lord, some have said that prayers are useless to solve the problems facing fallen humanity. Or they act as if we are doing nothing when we offer our prayers to help resolve the growing issues in the world. Thank you, Lord, for showing us that the prayers of all the saints that ascend up to Heaven, not only to be offered as a holy sacrifice to you but that they also precede your activity upon fallen humanity and the blowing of the final trumpets of your wrath upon a wicked and vile world. Yes, Lord, we too call forth all of your beloved children from around the world to lift up their voices in united prayer. Let them do so, to render your righteous judgment against every evildoer in the streets and behind every closed door. We pray that you will strengthen all of your beloved children to stand firm by proclaiming the gospel truth, which alone will turn the tide of wickedness, and to immediately withdraw from those who are causing chaos in the streets of our great cities. We pray this in the Most Holy Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne, and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel” (Revelation 8:3-4).

Subject: “Don’t Give Up Helping Others”
Good morning Heavenly Father. Help us, dear Lord, not to ever give up doing good for others, to do good for every person that we come into contact with. As we have seen not everyone will reciprocate in kind; not everyone will drop their crusty defenses and return the same measure of our love to us, your beloved children. Help us not to give up doing good to others. You have taught us to be truly good, we need to turn the other cheek, go the extra mile, and to give to others who ask without asking for anything in return. Although the world of fallen humanity will always put a cap on how much to give to others, you don’t. You tell us not to give up doing good to others, for in due season we will reap a great harvest of souls that will have been brought closer to you. If we don’t give up, then we will rejoice in the harvest by receiving a full measure of sincere love from others, if not in this life, then in the next. Praise God! We pray this in the Most Holy Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9).

Subject: “The War From Within”
Good morning Heavenly Father. Oh Lord, as we contemplate on what’s tearing this nation and world apart, we have observed that it’s the same thing that causes so many problems in every individual on planet earth. As there are many different voices in the world, we have discovered that there are also many different voices and urges in most people caused by their desires of the flesh or their old sin nature. Instead of rebuking these voices and casting them out immediately, they tend to dwell on them until they end up acting on these bad choices. They end up gratifying the desires of the flesh and not walking in the Spirit. The Spirit and the flesh are truly opposed to one another causing many to be led into all manner of evil, doing things that they would not normally do. We pray that all your beloved children will fight against these voices or urges of the old sin nature by walking in the Spirit. We pray that your children will discover the absolute joy and peace that comes from walking every day in the Spirit. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do” (Galatians 5:16-17).

Subject: “Help Us to Overcome Evil”
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for teaching us in the Bible and through your Spirit that we cannot overcome evil with evil. There are many bad people in our world today, many of them claiming themselves to be good because of their positions of authority or their higher social standing. Yet, we know their hearts and it’s simply not right. We pray that you will help all your beloved children to overcome this evil not by doing bad things but by doing good. We know it will take a greater person to do this, something we cannot do on our own without your help. You have taught your children to turn the other cheek, go the extra mile, and to give to them who ask, which are only a few things we can do to overcome this growing evil amongst us. We pray that your beloved children will come to the forefront of this great struggle in our world today giving them strength to set an example for others by letting their light shine brightly through their acts of love and not hate. We pray this in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21).

Subject: “We Are Children of Light”
Good morning Heavenly Father. Lord, we know it’s quite impossible to please you while walking in the darkness. It’s the light of your glory that helps us to discern what pleases you. It is your marvelous light that helps us to see what is good, right, and true. And the more we walk in the light of your glory, the more we will know what pleases you, which opens the door to a blissful life where time seems to stop as we rest in your loving presence. We pray that all of your children will taste this blissful life by withdrawing completely from the darkness around them and walking only in the light of your glory as a foretaste of things to come. Please show your children, dear Lord, how they can easily do this one step at a time until they have come fully into the light; allowing the barnacles of the old sin nature to fall off one step at a time. Once they have had a foretaste of this blissful life, we pray that it will motivate them to continue the process of transformation. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Walk as children of light, (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true) and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:8b-10, ESV).
