Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 8/19/2019
Good morning Heavenly Father. People change, some for the worst and some for the best. We never really know what the day will bring from fallen humanity. Will they be in a good mood and demonstrate signs of kindness or will they be in a bad mood coloring the day with their rejection of others and their hatefulness when others come near. Thank you, LORD, that you are not moody and change often like the world of fallen humanity. No matter what we say or what we do, it will not change who you are. You are unchangeable. In your loving kindness you can draw close to those who sincerely love you or you can simply let them go to experience the consequences of their own sins. We cannot blame you for our condition or for our state of mind. A man reaps what he has sown. Teach your children to be thankful in all things blaming you for nothing because you are not an angry God. We thank you LORD that you are always good, that you never change, and that your mercy endures forever. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever” (Psalms 107:1).
PRAYERS FOR THE LAST WEEK, IN CASE YOU MISSED ONE
Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 8/18/2019
Good morning Heavenly Father. We pray that all your children would not take certain Scripture text out of context allowing it to justify their bad behavior or to give in to the scrupulous demands of the enemy. We live in a day when many believers are very wishy-washy, where their doctrine changes from one encounter to the next. Or they soft-peddle their doctrinal beliefs out of the fear of offending. On the other hand, we have seen believers become ruthlessly arrogant to defend their beliefs. We pray that we would all follow the biblical admonition to stand firm as a strong soldier guarding his post, not relaxing his doctrinal beliefs in the slightest but also remembering to do and say everything in love showing the utmost respect even for those attempting to dislodge our faith and destroy our beliefs. We pray that we will always be watchful for the enemy who loves to cast false accusations at your children, by telling them that they are not acting much like Christians, to get them to relax their doctrinal position; even the enemy can pose as an angel of light. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love” (I Corinthians 16:13-14, ESV).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you, Lord, for teaching us that we grow stronger together. It’s much easier to become all that you want us to be when we spend our time helping others. All the negativity, arguments, and the bashing of one another only tears your beloved children down driving them back into the world of fallen humanity. We pray, Oh Lord, that we will be the true Church by meeting together with other likeminded believers who sincerely want you to be central in their lives. Although our numbers may be small and spread across vast distances, we believe it’s possible to become one in the Spirit, encouraging, edifying, and even admonishing one another in tenderness and gentleness through the spirit of love. Help us to stand firm together in mutual support and collaboration to overcome the many obstacles in our society designed to destroy our biblical morality, our Christian exclusiveness, and our total dependence on You. We pray that you will lead us every step of the way joining together with only those who will contribute to our spiritual growth and transformation in Christ. We pray this in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Oh, Lord, why must we have dry moments, when you seem distant, and we are completely void of that deep abiding fellowship that we live for every day? We know that sin can immediately severe that relationship, yet that’s not always the cause of our dryness in the Spirit. So, we fall-down humbly before you, our righteous God in Heaven seeking the answer to our question. What causes our Spiritual dryness? As we ponder this you are speaking, telling us that to fully appreciate the bright light of your glory, we must revisit the darkness of fallen humanity and the horrible separation from you. So, we wait. And will continue to wait, no matter how long it takes. We will join our Lord, Jesus Christ, in the garden, in the darkest night of humanity as He awaited the Cross and His momentary separation from His Father in Heaven when He cried out, “Why hast thou forsaken me?” Yet, it wasn’t long before He experienced once again the glories of Heaven. In the same way, our indwelling Spirit will come in like a flood. Hallelujah! We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you, Lord Jesus, that for every step we take closer to you, you take one step closer to us. We have discovered that the more we give up, the things of this world, the more you give to us from your eternal Kingdom, allowing us to have a foretaste of things to come. We know that not everyone will follow, some out of fear, others out of weak or a lack of faith, and others because they simply don’t want to give up what the evil world offers. Whatever the reason, we pray that we will continue to reach out to them in love showing them a better way to experience all that life can offer through a total commitment to You. A wonderful life that reaches way beyond our physical existence to the Spiritual; to a bountiful life that always begins at the foot of the Cross, death to self, and all the trappings of this fallen world. Once discovered it’s worth everything we have and much more. We pray that all will believe this truth and leave everything for You. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Father forgive us if we fail to walk in righteousness, at all times. We live in a world with a lot of grey areas that can make things rather confusing for your beloved children. Also, we live in a world that sin has been legalized and illegal aliens have been called legal. It can be very confusing for a young believer or even an older believer who sincerely desires to do things that are righteous in your eyes. It also appears the longer a person walks on a path of unrighteousness the easier it becomes to justify their bad behavior, not necessarily in the eyes of the world but in your Holy and Righteous eyes, that will one day hold us accountable for everything we have done in these bodies. We pray that you will give all your beloved children courage and determination to walk in the path of righteousness even if they must walk alone. We have learned from experience, even if we think we are walking alone on this path of righteousness, we are not alone, because we have you walking with us. We pray this the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:25).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you, Lord, for your Spirit that leads us in prayer, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. We ask that you lead us again today as we ponder how much the world is leading the world around by the nose. Their influence upon fallen humanity is phenomenal. Through social media, the news media, and even through preachers and teachers the world is led around every moment of every day on what to think, how to think, and even more dangerously how to act. We pray that we as your beloved children would no longer be influenced by the world but allow you alone to influence our thinking and actions through the indwelling Spirit. Teach your children how to listen to the indwelling Spirit, by quietly listening to the voice from within, a voice that’s always validated by your Word in the Bible. Only then can we really walk as we should, becoming obedient to your will and not ours. Only then can we call ourselves the sons of God. Only then can our spirit cry out, Abba, Father. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Although there are many things in the world that can agitate our souls, from reckless drivers, to mean spirited people, to the pain and suffering caused by our frail bodies, and to our inability to function at peak performance, we rejoice in your peace that calms the soul. We thank you for giving us your peace, Oh Lord, that can hold back the raging flood of emotions allowing us to see a better way, to experience a great calmness, as we allow your peace to rule in our hearts. We pray that all your beloved children would remember to be thankful in all things, which can also calm the great torrent of emotions that drives them in one direction then in another, causing them to ultimately lose control. Help your beloved children to remember that we are all in the same body and no one in their right mind would purposely inflict pain or injury to their own body. We pray that they will allow peace to rule in their hearts approving and disapproving of every thought, every word, and every action. We humbly pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful” (Colossians 3:15).
