Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 2/22/2020

Good morning Heavenly Father. We pray, Oh Lord, that we, your beloved children will get back to our initial calling. It’s been so long for so many who have been immersed in all manner of prophecy, theological debates, and unimaginable controversies dividing and destroying your beloved children. We pray that we, your people, get back to the basics of showing mankind how to be saved; not just a free ticket to heaven, but a brand-new life free from all the pain of being a lost soul. We pray that we will learn how to lead others to faith by demonstrating our trust in you to save us from all the heartaches of a broken world. On the surface mankind is shaping his world in majesty and grander through the building of great cities and enjoying the marvels of technology but not far below the surface mankind is broken. He is less than a heap of ashes completely blind to his true condition. We pray that we all lift up our voices and tell them of their true condition that no one can solve their problems except the Son of God who is offering them life beyond anything they could possibly imagine. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village” (Luke 9:56).

PRAYERS FOR THE LAST WEEK,  IN CASE YOU MISSED ONE

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 2/21/2020

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you, Lord, for giving us godly parents and grandparents that have taught us so many lessons about having respect for our elders along with showing honor for our political and spiritual leaders. We are deeply saddened that the world has drifted away from this mutual respect, where just reading the headlines we are appalled. Almost every headline or news story is about bashing the other person in all manner of disgusting and demeaning rhetoric. How can all this infighting be considered news? Thank you, Lord, for teaching us that even if we disagree with their opinions, we still must honor their position by submitting to them in the fear of God. Thank you for teaching us that we can offer our opposing opinions without bashing the other person by disrespecting them from interrupting to talking over them as we have witnessed in the political debates. Let us not take our lessons from the world in submitting ourselves one to one another but lead all of your beloved children to demonstrate honor and mutual respect for everyone even if we disagree with them. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God” (Ephesians 5:21).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Oh Lord, we have such a burden for your Church for many have grown melancholy in their faith and have become quite content to remain comfortably in their spiritual stagnation. They have little interest in becoming mature Christians and experiencing the many pains that come from true spiritual growth, by putting off the old life and putting on the new life in Christ. They are quite content to wear proudly their Christian label when other Christians are present, yet very happy to remove it when among the heathen in the world. We pray, Oh Lord, that you will sound the trumpets of Heaven to awaken them from their sleep. We pray that they will arise and allow your marvelous light to shine ever brightly upon them so that they will take their place in the ranks of the Christian soldiers in our battle against evil. We pray that your light from heaven will cause them to remember the great joy that they once experienced when you first called them from the evil darkness of this world into the bright light of your glory. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light” (Ephesians 5:14).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 2/19/2020

Good morning Heavenly Father. If we speak all day long and say nothing about the growing immorality in the church, then our words are empty, and they will deceive Your children. If we only choose the popular sins to speak on and ignore all the rest, then our words are empty and will deceive Your children. We pray, Oh Lord, that we will speak plainly and openly about the many sins of your children so that they will understand why they are having so many problems as if something strange were happening to them. Let them recognize their sins of lust, lying, dishonesty, greed, avarice, gluttony, anger, and impure thoughts so that they will know that You have not winked at their sins. Let them realize that these strange things happening to them may be your righteous wrath. “For because of these things, the wrath of God comes upon them, the sons of disobedience.” We pray that all of your beloved children will not judge or be harsh with others but rather let them rebuke them in love leading them to repentance and the refreshing waters of Your forgiveness. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience” (Ephesians 5:6, ESV).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 2/18/2020

Good morning Heavenly Father. Most of us in the Western world grew up being taught to think before we speak. Yet, we see in today’s world, that is no longer relevant causing your children much confusion being tossed in one theological or prophetic direction then another. It has also caused broken relationships and heated arguments even among friends. We have also discovered, Oh Lord, that this has gotten much worse on social media where there is no longer any accountability for what people say. We pray that you, O LORD, will set a guard over our mouths causing us to not only think through what we say before we say it but to check first with the indwelling Spirit, allowing Him to approve or disprove it. If it takes longer to respond in spoken communication or written response, so be it, for then we know that we have followed your guidance. We pray if your beloved children speak otherwise that you will bring forth great conviction through the indwelling Spirit. We pray that our words will only edify, encourage, and build others up in Christian love. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!” (Psalms 141:3, ESV).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 2/17/2020

Good morning Heavenly Father. Oh, how we remember the great joy of our salvation. This joy in the Lord is so awesome it’s difficult to put into words; it’s like enjoying heavenly bliss upon the earth at the moment in time when everything around us stops while we are enveloped with your magnificent love. We have discovered, dear Lord, that this joy gives us a willingness to do your work with gladness in our hearts. This amazing joy drives us to do what we thought was quite impossible. We pray today you will restore this joy to all of your beloved children by showing them that their unconfessed sin and their unwillingness to follow your commands have robbed them of this amazing joy in the Lord, the joy of their salvation. It has also caused them to be stagnant in their spiritual growth and unwilling to follow you in your work here upon the earth. Lead them to confess and repent of all their sins, even the hidden ones of the heart, so that you can restore them to the absolute joy of their salvation. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit” (Psalms 51:12, ESV).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 2/16/2020

Good morning Heavenly Father. We pray that all we say and do will truly glorify you. So, we pray that we always produce lots of Spiritual fruit proving that we are indeed your disciples. Let us not follow lukewarm Christianity that has grown stagnant in their faith, showing no Spiritual growth, and producing no fruit. To do so brings no glory to you no matter how many times we repeat the phrase, “all glory to God.” On the other hand, we pray that all of your beloved children are witnessing their own Spiritual growth by becoming more like you every day. We pray that they are becoming stronger in their faith by learning to trust you alone for all their many problems in life. We pray that their conversation with others is always full of blessings, edifying, and building them up in Christian love. We pray that they will not always complain publicly about their many problems through veiled prayer requests or always finding fault with others. We pray that they grow up in Christ so that they can bear much fruit and truly glorify you. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples” (John 15:8).

Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 2/15/2020

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you, Father, for the indwelling Spirit that convicts us when we fall short of your mark or when we fall short of the place where we need to be in our spiritual growth. We have discovered that we cannot compare ourselves with the righteousness or the unrighteousness of our neighbors, but we should only compare ourselves to your righteous standard. When we do then we must admit that we fall short of your high standards. However, we rejoice believing that the blood of Christ has made us righteous before you, allowing us to stand before you, and our confession cleanses us from all unrighteousness when we fall short. We pray that all of your beloved children will be quick to confess all of their sins through godly sorrow and repentance. Let them not turn a deaf ear to the conviction of the indwelling Spirit. How refreshing it is, what joy it is in the Spirit when we receive your loving forgiveness cleansing us from all unrighteousness and putting us back into that glorious relationship with you, our Father. Praise God! We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9).
