Prayers by Rev. Daniel W. Blair 10/20/2019

Good morning Heavenly Father. We truly understand how lives can be destroyed by others. We have seen it in failed marriages. We have seen it when people were tremendously hurt by others, either physically or emotionally. Yet, in all these tragic hurts and more, there is nothing worse than not being forgiven by our Father in Heaven. The unforgiven faces enormous emotional and psychological problems that will face them for the rest of their life, until they learn how to truly forgive others, no matter how horrific the circumstance. We thank you, Lord Jesus, for showing us how you had forgiven your persecutors as you hung on the Cross. We pray, that you teach your children the three principles of forgiveness that will lead them, in time, to forget the hurt, to forget the trespass. Teach them not to bring up the trespass again, not to keep telling others, and not to dwell on the trespass or hurt. Praise God, to truly forgive others turns them over to your righteous judgment, allows us to receive your forgiveness, and the glorious freedom from a life of misery. We pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses” (Matthew 6:14-15).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you, Lord, for always leading us to see and understand things beyond the comprehension of the natural man. While the natural man is consumed with things that can be seen, the spiritual man looks to the things that are not seen. The natural man has embraced his idols of wealth, pleasure, and fame, while the spiritual man embraces his desire for righteousness, humility, and perfection, those unseen qualities that are eternal. Please open the eyes of all your children to see that many who claim to be Christian are still serving the idols of wealth, pleasure, and fame. Unfortunately, many of these fake Christians are serving in political and national leadership. We pray, Oh Lord, that all your beloved children will learn to look beyond the temporary things of this world that are getting old, decaying, and passing away and look to those unseen qualities that are eternal; the qualities of true fellowship, loving relationships, and the unity of mind and spirit. We pray that your children will not be distracted by temporal gains but embrace the eternal significance of life. We pray this in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal” (II Corinthians 4:18).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you, Lord, for using all of our trials and tribulations to mold us into perfection, free from all the barnacles of the old sin nature. Although we have often cried out to you in great pain and agony, you have always been there giving us a glimpse of heavenly joy through the indwelling Spirit. Thank you that our many struggles and afflictions caused by our own bad decisions or by others are very short in comparison to the absolute bliss of our new home in glory. We can more easily endure the pain when we know that it is short-lived and will soon come to an end. Our pain in comparison to our eternal home is just like a short flicker in time, or one grain of sand compared to all the sand on the world’s beaches. We pray that we will see this time on earth as not the end but just a brief time of indoctrination to the wonderous glory in Heaven. We pray that all we do and think will be in preparation for our eternal home. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (II Corinthians 4:17).

Good morning Heavenly Father. We pray, Oh Lord, that you will continue to give us the strength to do our work for which you have called us. We openly admit at times because of our advancing age and the physical trials that our bodies must endure, it’s most difficult to continue our work of helping your precious children. The body can be very sluggish under the weight of physical trials and look for every excuse to ignore our daily work. Although our bodies or the outward man is perishing, we have discovered that our souls or the inward man can be renewed every day. You have graciously shown us that the more we extend ourselves to spread the truth and to help others in their afflictions, ignoring our own, the more we feel the blessed effects of our own renewal. The more we give ourselves to others the more we receive from your hand. The more we extend ourselves in our daily studies and prayers, the more we receive your abounding grace to complete our work. We faint not. Thank you for renewing our spirit day by day. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day” (II Corinthians 4:16).

Good morning Heavenly Father. We come humbly into your presence this morning asking that you show us how to sanctify You in our hearts. Your children fear many things in the world as it drifts further away from you. They fear to speak openly about you and specifically about your teachings that are so opposed to the world. They can easily parrot what others say, but don’t have your anointed systematic teachings in their hearts and upon their lips. We pray that you will help them to have your teachings planted securely upon their hearts so that they can easily, with great power, tell others about their unchangeable beliefs that are clearly unnegotiable. We pray that they will clearly articulate how your truths are opposed to the teachings accepted by the world. We pray that they will speak these truths in meekness but with great power, conviction, and fear of the Lord. Help us not to fear what the world can do to us, rather help us to always fearfully trust in you alone to provide for all of our needs. You are our only hope. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear” (I Peter 3:15).

Good morning Heavenly Father. You know Lord that from the beginning we have always desired to be called a “good and faithful servant” not only at the end of our time here on earth but at each point during our pilgrimage. We have desired to use our gifts to build your Kingdom by strengthening your disciples to stand firm in the faith. Thank you for teaching us that the gifts given to us are not our natural abilities to perform mediocre works but are Spiritual gifts to perform great tasks beyond what we ever thought possible. We pray that all your beloved children will discover their own unique Spiritual gifts and then use them for your work. Thank you for showing us time and again that it is You that’s actually working through us performing the most amazing work that’s nothing less than miraculous. We are saddened to think that on the last day when we stand before You that many will be like the “unfaithful servant” who buried their talents. Oh Lord, please awaken their gifts within their souls giving them courage to use them. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord” (Matthew 25:21).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you, Lord, for delivering us from the exhausting rigor of trying to obey all your commandments. Through our unfeigned faith and trust in you alone, you have miraculously written your commands upon our hearts. Thank you for your magnificent love that overflows in our hearts allowing it to flow through us to others. Thank you for removing the heart of stone and giving us a pure heart through the power of transformation; giving us the ability to truly love others as we should with no ulterior motives. Thank you, Lord, for giving us a new conscious that’s being kept in check by the indwelling Spirit convicting us when we stray from the path of righteousness. We pray that you will deliver your children from the fear of breaking one of your commandments by showing them how to trust in you alone. Open their eyes to the amazing possibilities of righteous living with little or no effort, if we continue our spiritual growth in Christ. Show them that they have the ability, in-Christ, to say no to all the temptations of the devil. We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned” (I Timothy 1:5).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you, Lord, for teaching us how to pray, not to be seen or to make a show of our piety before others but to pray discreetly in the right attitude. Thank you, Lord, for teaching us through your anointed Scripture that lifting holy hands is truly a sign of our submission to You, as our one true God. It’s also a statement by us that we are approaching the throne of grace with repentant hearts, not seeking to hide our sins, but openly confessing them to You, our Lord. It is also our commitment to cast away every evil and mean-spirited thought that would hinder our prayers to You, our King. We pray that all your beloved children will understand and believe that they can enter the Spirit everywhere in quiet prayer of faith, without doubting. Although we may be a bit more discrete in lifting physical hands in a public place, we assuredly lift them in the Spirit without wrath and without doubting. Thank you, Father God, for listening to our many prayers in both public and private places. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting” (I Timothy 2:8).
