When posting the indisputable doctrines of the faithful remnant it will cut clean across the fault lines of modern Christianity. As Martin Luther nailed the ninety-five theses to the door of the Catholic Church and later said “Here I stand, I can do no other,” we too must take our stand on the truth. As the world moves further away from the truth of God’s Word and seeks to live by its higher knowledge we have witnessed the moral decline of society. Unfortunately, many so-called Christians have joined with them creating open hostility against the faithful remnant, those who hold to these indisputable doctrines that are stated in this article. I have been personally attacked and threatened for the teachings that I so dearly hold onto with the same determination of those early Christians who took their stand against their persecutors. Please read carefully allowing God’s Holy Spirit to lead you to accept these truths and join the ranks of the faithful remnant. Then join me as we spread the truth to all those who have ears to hear. Here I stand, I can no other.
Most Christians believe that the devil exists. The differences arise in how much power they believe the devil has in our day. While some believe that the devil has no real power and rarely discuss him, there are others who believe that he is so powerful that he disrupts every single area of the believer’s life leading them to cast out devils from almost everyone, again and again. We believe that both these positions are extreme and miss the biblical admonition to stand against the wiles of the devil. It’s essential to understand just how powerful and deceptive these wiles are for the modern-day believer. (For a complete description of the wiles see my book “Stand Firm.”) This article will only concern the wiles that have put most of humanity into bondage including so-called believers or carnal Christians. These wiles are not new but have truly been here from the beginning when the devil tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden. The temptation was simple and direct, the devil said “Yea, hath God said? … for God doth know in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil” (See Genesis 3:2-5). This elevated knowledge of man or what man thinks he knows has put him into the proverbial driver’s seat or the seat of God. To ascend to an epic point in his pride where he thinks he knows more than God, which is idolatry.
Simply put, the devil is still attempting to lead God’s children to reject the promise of a new and better life without the intellectual help of fallen humanity. Jesus said, “The thief [talking about the devil] cometh not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). A bountiful life full of love for one another and a peace that defies understanding. A life that is no longer brought low by all the sin and stress in the world. A life that rises above all the emotional and psychological problems affecting fallen humanity. A new life that is made holy where truly old things pass away. This was echoed by the Apostle Paul who said, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (II Corinthians 5:17). This is the first indisputable doctrine for the faithful remnant. We believe if God can make us perfect in the beginning then He can also recreate us putting our feet on the path that leads to perfection without the help of self-righteous man. We have no reason to fear transformation. We not only believe it, we expect it. So, we search the Scripture to see how to experience this new life, how to enter into it, and how to enjoy all its promises without the world’s counsel.
This leads us to the second indisputable doctrine of the faithful remnant. We believe that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness. We believe in the sufficiency of Scripture. The Bible says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue” (II Peter 1:3). That should settle it for most believers, but it doesn’t. They simply do not believe that God has given us all the information we need for living this new life in Christ. They figure that this is a new day and God does not have all the answers, so we must rely on fallen humanity to come up with the solutions. Well, we have seen how that has worked out! Since humanity has turned away from trusting in God alone it has sought the world’s counsel, caused a drug epidemic, greatly increased the immorality in the world, and has brought it to the brink of destruction. On the other hand, the faithful remnant has sought to live by God’s Word alone without mixing in the half-truths of the devil. Remember, it’s the devil who comes to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.
Although the Bible is replete with instructions on how to put off the old life and put on the new life in Christ (See Ephesians 4:17 – 5:33), we have been given the Holy Spirit as a seal of our new life to grow us from one degree of glory to another. This is the next indisputable doctrine of the faithful remnant. Unlike the teachings of the world that keeps fallen humanity in bondage to their old life with a static personality that can never change, we have a dynamic personality that is in a constant flux of change becoming more like Jesus Christ. Furthermore, the Holy Spirit leads us into all truth (see John 16:13) producing ever manner of spiritual fruit to the glory of God (See Galatians 5:22-23). As we continue to grow spiritually in this new life every believer receives spiritual gifts to be used for building up the body of Christ (see I Corinthians 12). Friends, it is God through our faith that brings forth change in the believer’s life. The Bible says, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (II Corinthians 3:18). Amen! The old life with all its old struggles with sin and hurts are passing away. We learn how to forgive and forget. We learn how to let go of the past and press on to the upward calling in Christ Jesus our Lord (see Philippians 3:14). Of course, if you don’t believe these indisputable doctrines of the faithful remnant and turn back to the world for its counsel and psychiatric drugs then it will not happen for you. You will remain stuck in the past, stuck in your old life, and stuck in bondage to the enemy – the old devil.
I hope that you have seen so far that each of these doctrines are indisputable for those of the faithful remnant that’s needed to stand against the wiles of the devil. The last indisputable doctrine is that God only gave us one way to the new life in Christ and that is through His Son Jesus Christ. What He did on the Cross paid the price for all our sins, past, present and future. When He arose from the grave on the third day He paved the way to a new life in Him demonstrated so beautifully through believer’s baptism. We believe that nothing in this world can add any truth to our new life. The disciplines of psychology and psychiatry can add nothing to our new life. The discipline of philosophy and higher learning can add nothing to our new life. New age thinking, and other world religions can add nothing to our new life. There is no other discipline. There is no other path. There is no other God. All other paths lead straight to hell. In the last days most of humanity including many who claim to know Christ will not accept these indisputable doctrines. They will continue getting their worldly counsel and psychiatric drugs unable to experience all the blessings of the new life in Christ. When Christ returns He will only know those who are living their new Life-in-Christ. Here I stand, I can do no other.
