Oh Lord, please break the hold that Satan and his powers of darkness have on the world. Last week we wrote about how unchecked emotions or the old sin nature was leading the world into utter chaos. Today, we will write about how Satan and the powers of darkness are tightening their grip on humanity leading them to think and do the unconscionable. This hold on humanity will cause untreatable suffering, illnesses, and even death. This hold on humanity will cause many to do and say what they normally wouldn’t. Many are being pushed beyond their breaking point, either going stark raving mad, on the verge of insanity or committing suicide. Everyone will be affected to some degree even if they claim Jesus Christ as their Savior. These will be dark days indeed when everything seems to be falling apart. We have already seen this in today’s world where someone will ruthlessly slash young people in their sleep for no reason and where another will buy a gun, then unmercifully kill his workmates in cold blood. There is not a day that goes by where we don’t hear about how people act as if they are being controlled by the master of evil and the powers of darkness. The Coming Storm
When we think of a coming storm, we immediately think of what can be seen or witnessed by the human eye. There is another storm coming greater than all the storms and so-called natural disasters in history. It’s greater than all the wars that have been fought. It’s worse than all the diseases and pandemics that have ever fallen upon humanity. This coming storm will affect nearly every human on planet earth. It’s so horrific that any attempt to explain it will fall woefully short. This coming storm cannot be seen by the naked eye or touched by the human hand, but it will be clearly known and experienced. So, what is this coming storm that’s so frightening that it will drive the entire world into the camp of the enemy to become his willing servants? To help us to understand this coming storm we need to fathom the depth of fear. Fear has been one of the greatest motivators throughout all of history. In some measure, every human is motivated by fear. The greater the fear, the greater the motivation. The Coming Storm to Control all of Humanity
The storm is coming. Satan and the powers of darkness want total control of every person on the planet. They want to control your action, your speech, and your every thought. Large worldwide religious movements have tried to do this, and it did not work. Imperialism did not work, nation-building did not work, the United Nations did not work, even progressive liberalism isn’t working. Only one thing is! Unfortunately, it’s not God’s beautiful truth, because He will not force His will upon humanity. On the other hand, Satan, the master planner, and deceiver, is already at work to control the entire world. He did it once before, just before the great flood and he is doing it again now. The Bible says, “And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart wasonly evil continually” (Genesis 6:5). “Every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” Read that again slowly allowing it to sink in deeply. This is Satan’s plan; this is his goal. Satan does not care what your religion is, he doesn’t care what country you belong to, and he doesn’t even care what color you are. The more, the merrier! “Come one, come all” is his motto. Even the leader of the Catholic Church is sending an invitation to all religions to come together and reject those, like myself, who embrace fundamentalism. Could it be that most Christians in today’s world are fighting the wrong fight, or fighting the wrong battle? I am afraid if they don’t get this right soon, then it will be too late.
