Satan Tightens His Global Control

Oh Lord, please break the hold that Satan and his powers of darkness have on the world. Last week we wrote about how unchecked emotions or the old sin nature was leading the world into utter chaos. Today, we will write about how Satan and the powers of darkness are tightening their grip on humanity leading them to think and do the unconscionable. This hold on humanity will cause untreatable suffering, illnesses, and even death. This hold on humanity will cause many to do and say what they normally wouldn’t. Many are being pushed beyond their breaking point, either going stark raving mad, on the verge of insanity or committing suicide. Everyone will be affected to some degree even if they claim Jesus Christ as their Savior. These will be dark days indeed when everything seems to be falling apart. We have already seen this in today’s world where someone will ruthlessly slash young people in their sleep for no reason and where another will buy a gun, then unmercifully kill his workmates in cold blood. There is not a day that goes by where we don’t hear about how people act as if they are being controlled by the master of evil and the powers of darkness.

Our job today is to learn how to recognize the evil powers of darkness so that we can effectively stand against them with God’s truth. There are different levels of difficulty in recognizing the evil presence, so we will start with the easiest first. Although it’s the easiest to recognize, it will be among the most difficult, especially among fallen humanity who is unfamiliar with God’s righteous truth. The powers of darkness can lead you to unrighteous thoughts and vain imaginations. So, if we are unfamiliar with the righteousness in God’s Word, then it would be easy for the powers of darkness to freely implant their thoughts causing us to eventually commit the unrighteous act. This does not negate our responsibility just because the thought was implanted by the enemy. So, we must do two things. First, we must learn the righteous behavior required for every follower of Jesus Christ. We must learn the difference between right and wrong. We must learn the truth, which is not taught at home and in the public schoolroom. The second thing is to cast the evil thoughts and vain imaginations out of our minds immediately. Then we must substitute those thoughts with righteous and holy thoughts. If we don’t, then we will join the world in every manner of wickedness.

The powers of darkness tighten their control on humanity by leading them to trust in their own ability to overcome every obstacle from increasing lawlessness to global warming. This is most difficult to recognize but easy to overcome if we truly trust in God alone. To trust in God will put His truth into our lives, using it to grow us from one degree of glory to another. Our Spiritual growth in Christ will set us free from our bondage to Satan. We can tell Satan to be gone and we can cast out his evil thoughts but until we put God’s truth into our lives then Satan will return. He will return again and again until we are pulled back into bondage and back into a life of great pain and wicked rage. Satan will not stop until our minds are clouded and on the verge of insanity or total madness. That’s exactly what he does. Look around and you can see how he is winning the war. Look around and you can see how the Church is growing more lukewarm every day by not trusting in His truth alone. Let me ask you a question, “are you growing more like Christ every day or are you growing more like the world filled with every manner of evil? “If you are NOT growing in Christ daily, then you are becoming more like the world that’s in bondage to the enemy. Only the truth will set you free.

Most people living in the West proclaim loudly that they are free. There is nothing further from the truth. Satan and the powers of darkness want you to believe this lie so that you will not seek to be free. They want to keep you away from the truth so that you will remain in bondage to the powers of darkness. Some seek their own truth by searching the internet believing that they have the power of discernment. Others seek the truth by weighing what everyone says on social media, believing that they too have the power of discernment. Others listen to one preacher after another on YouTube believing that they too can discern the truth and discard the lies. Then, finally, you have those who listen to the news media and all the politicians thinking that they too can discern the truth and jettison the outrageous lies. I am here to tell you that there is only one place to receive the truth and set you free from your bondage, and that is from Jesus Christ, who is the Spirit of truth. The more we immerse ourselves in God’s truth the more we will have true discernment. Only true discernment will expose all the lies and the powers of darkness attempting to lead you further into darkness.

As fallen humanity seeks to discover his own truth, the deeper he will go into bondage. His mind will be clouded, and his eyes will grow dimmer creating even greater confusion. Medication will not help. Higher learning will not help. Humanity will begin to slip deeper and deeper into the grips of Satan causing untold suffering. So, we must seek God’s truth to deliver us from our bondage to Satan and the powers of darkness. The truth comes directly from God through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. This truth was also written down in the original text free from all textual errors. It was given to the prophets, apostles, and men called by God to write down God’s words through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. This is the same Spirit that will open the eyes of every believer who prayerfully reads the Holy Scriptures. This is the only truth that will set you free from the powers of darkness. No matter how old the earth becomes the truth will remain the same. Science, technology, and artificial intelligence will not change this truth. Higher learning, philosophy, and psychology will not change this truth. The truth from God remains the same throughout all eternity. The truth from God is the only truth that will set you free. Remember the words of Jesus, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).

Raging madness and threatening behavior are already spreading around the globe affecting nearly every person. They cannot explain it. They cannot cure it. They cannot stop it on their own. All of their technology and all of science cannot stop it.  In the end, one will arise making great promises to bring peace and prosperity to a beleaguered world. It will make no difference that his ways are lawless. It will make no difference because the world is suffering greatly. They will be looking for a savior to deliver them from their crumbling world on the verge of collapse. They will be willing to do anything to stop the mental anguish and the physical pain. They will even be willing to turn from their God, whom most will begin to blame for their troubles. Satan who has caused most of the world’s sufferings will now turn the tables casting all the blame on God. Remember, when Antichrist comes, he will be Satan’s representative on earth. His goal has not changed since the beginning. His ultimate goal is the destruction of humanity through his bald-faced lies, temptations, and leading you away from trusting in God exclusively. Please turn back to God before it’s too late by following Christ and His truth alone to deliver you from your captivity to Satan and his diabolical control. A time is coming when it will be nearly impossible to escape as Satan tightens his global control.

When the World Stops Listening

They say the mind can take only so much and then it stops listening. Some are calling it overload, while others are calling it selective hearing.  Whatever it is, it appears that the whole world has stopped listening. They have turned away from the ancient religions and are embracing a new future that promises many unbelievable advances in technology. These changes promise to enhance humanity’s ability to experience a deeper understanding of the entire universe and their unique place in it. These changes promise to give them a fulfilled life where the whole world will come together as one in peace and tranquility. These changes promise to open the door to a new reality where anything is possible from communicating with the animal kingdom to utilizing artificial intelligence to enhance their abilities. Nothing seems impossible to a world that has jettisoned classic Christianity for a brave new world. Although many will continue to play church, they no longer trust in God for their future, and they no longer trust in religion to chart their path ahead. They have joined the lukewarm church and no longer listen to God exclusively.

We live in a world that no longer wants to hear the deep things about the risen Christ and His miraculous work through the indwelling Spirit. They no longer want to hear about our need for Spiritual growth by putting off the old life and putting on the new life in Christ. They no longer want to hear that we have been given everything we need for life and godliness, which would cause them to reject most of humanity’s self helps. They no longer want to hear about God’s loving providence, even if we must faithfully endure trials and tribulations. The world has stopped listening because they have either rejected Christianity altogether or they have grown comfortable with the lukewarm church. It’s a sad state of affairs when we equate the rejection of Christianity with the lukewarm church but unfortunately, that’s exactly where Satan has led the modern church. The modern church has aggressively accepted all the new teachings from the world causing them to turn a deaf ear to the eternal truths passed on to us by our forefathers. So, let’s take a closer look at these unchanging truths that must be embraced by every true believer in Christ and truths that must be tirelessly proclaimed from the pulpit of their churches.

The true Church of God embraces the power and miraculous work of the Holy Spirit (John 6:4-15; I Corinthians 12:1-31). Without the power of the Holy Spirit, we will never be all that God wants us to be in Christ. Without the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit, the church will become stagnant in its growth and not be that bright shining light on a hill. The good news is this power of the Holy Spirit is immediately available to every believer who is called into the Kingdom. There is no waiting for those who believe and know in their hearts that they have been called. The Spirit is our Helper in all things from Spiritual growth to understanding and using our Spiritual gifts for the furtherance of God’s Kingdom here on earth. We have all been given Spiritual gifts not based on our natural abilities but on our call into the eternal Kingdom. Furthermore, the Spirit stays with us every moment of every day as our new Holy Resident. He always guides us and directs us along life’s narrow path experiencing one miracle after another that’s only fully realized as we mature in Christ. Every true Church embraces the power and miraculous work of the Holy Spirit.

The true Church of God embraces the absolute need for Spiritual growth from one degree of glory to another (II Corinthians 3:18). Spiritual growth is not about learning empty doctrines and endless rituals or memorizing the entire Bible from cover to cover. On the other hand, it is working closely with the indwelling Spirit by receiving His convictions and following His prompting even if it’s extremely uncomfortable. Reading slowly and methodically Holy Scripture allows it to penetrate deep within our own hearts bringing forth remorse, confession, and repentance, thus putting off the old life of sin and putting on the new life in Christ. In the beginning, you will not read far before the tears of remorse flow down your cheeks leading you to cry out to the Lord in confession, agreeing to turn from your sin and never repeat it. In the place of the old life, we discover the new life, which must be put into place immediately, which takes great faith. Although putting on the new life in Christ may seem uncomfortable and quite awkward, in time through the power of the indwelling Spirit you will blossom with joy and a peace that defies understanding. The true believer doesn’t look to grow only once a week by listening to Spirit-filled preaching, but they grow Spiritually every day by reading Holy Scripture and listening to the indwelling Spirit. Every true Church embraces the absolute need for Spiritual growth.

The true Church of God embraces the sufficiency of Holy Scripture for all of life and godliness (II Peter 1:3). The Bible says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (II Corinthians 5:17). This is a beautiful truth that all the old hang-ups and besetting sins we had before Christ no longer have a hold on us. We have been set free to grow up Spiritually in Christ to become a beautiful new creation. We have not been left alone but have the indwelling Spirit, our Helper, and the Holy Scripture that gives us everything we need for life and godliness (II Peter 1:3). All those old emotional and psychological problems no longer have a hold on the new person in Christ. God promises to give us the solution for every problem facing humanity. As true believers in Christ, we no longer need the world’s counselors or psychotropic drugs to overcome our problems. As true believers in Christ, we no longer trust fallen humanity to solve our many emotional and psychological problems, but we trust God, who created us and knows everything about us. We have learned how to bring our problems directly to God in deep prayer and meditation believing that He will solve every problem in His time. As the true Church of God, we embrace the sufficiency of Holy Scripture.

The true Church of God embraces God’s loving providence (Romans 8:28). As we grow up Spiritually every day trusting in God for all of life and godliness, we are still left temporarily in the fallen world controlled by the powers of darkness. Although the powers of darkness will use our trials and tribulations to cause us to stumble, God will always turn things around and use them for our eternal benefit if we maintain our trust in His loving providence. The Bible says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). It is a marvelous thing to trust in God to work all things together for good. For when we have eyes to see we will witness one miracle after another as God defeats the enemy of our souls and uses the trials and tribulations to strengthen our faith in Christ. As we mature in Christ we will learn to rejoice in trials and tribulations knowing that they are used for the perfecting of our faith (James 1:2-4). The lukewarm church is being destroyed by the many trials and tribulations of the last days, whereas the true Church of God embraces God’s loving providence.

Finally, the true Church of God embraces the exclusiveness of Christianity (John 14:6). We know that Christ is the only way to salvation, so we behave accordingly. Many claim to know the truth that Christ is the only way, but then they do their godless research for every little problem that comes into their lives. They freely associate with other religions, oftentimes seeking their advice about life and godliness. They have no problem seeking advice from the world or fallen humanity to understand the deeper truths about spirituality or the supernatural. They have no problem joining with those who practice inclusiveness, going so far as to say all paths lead to heaven. In conclusion, it’s past time for all of God’s precious children to either reform the church they attend or start a new fellowship that only preaches the truth. There is a reckoning coming very soon that will truly separate the sheep from the goats. I pray that all those who claim Jesus Christ as their Savior will be ready to defend their faith or be swept away by the teachings of the lukewarm church and the powers of darkness. The choice is yours.

Please Join Me in Prayer

Good morning Heavenly Father. You know Lord, that the battle rages on for your beloved children as we struggle against an unjust world seeking to mold us into its image. From the politicians who enact new laws to the judges who enforce them, and to their counselors who justify them, we are led into further captivity and away from your gracious promises of a new life in Christ. We cry out to you, our God, day and night for your mercy and grace to stand firm against our adversaries so that in time all your beautiful promises can be fulfilled in our lives. We long to experience the new life in Christ free from the haunting memories of our past failures. We long to experience total perfection free from the sinful habits of our old sin nature. We long to experience all your beautiful and powerful promises fulfilled in our lives. We continue to cry out day and night in prayer believing that you will, that you are, fulfilling all your wonderful promises. We will continue to fight the good fight of faith until we walk with you in paradise. We pray this in the blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

“And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?” (Luke 18:7).

Grasping the Benefits of Christ

If the human race really grasped the benefits of Christ everything around us would immediately change. We have had many people, some no doubt wiser than myself, try to explain the grandeur and majesty of these benefits. There have been hundreds, perhaps thousands, of pages written by some of our most ardent Christian scholars to plummet the depths of this most profound mystery. I dare say, over the centuries, there have only been very few in each age that has truly understood the great mysteries and benefits of Christ. These are bright lights shining in the darkness. These are the ones who have touched the very essence of Christianity through the indwelling Holy Spirit. These are the ones who have sat long at the Savior’s feet waiting for Him to open their minds to His abiding presence. They have waited patiently to understand the glorious benefits of being in Christ, to experience the great joy, and peace that truly defies understanding. As we fast approach the end it’s essential that we fully grasp the benefits of Christ. Let me encourage you to fully grasp the benefits of Christ and not settle for what can be seen on YouTube or social media. Please don’t settle for what the lukewarm church is offering.

As we embark on this journey together, we must jettison all the worry, all the fear, and all the busyness that has kept us so occupied. We must cast out all the vain imaginations, and thoughts that can enslave us to the powers of darkness. We must clear our minds of every idle thought. We must block out every little noise and distraction. We must prepare ourselves for the Master’s use. This is a very important step in a world that has gone mad, throwing information at us at the speed of light, as we are continuously being dragged into deeper bondage of exhaustion going from one thing to another. Stop! Clear your mind and your insidious schedule. Prepare yourself to meet the Lord who wishes to walk with you and talk with you along life’s narrow way. This cannot just be a chance encounter or only a one-time encounter. This wants to be a lifelong encounter, a lifelong experience of walking with Christ, a true Friend (John 15:15). Only after we have walked and talked with Christ will we truly understand the benefits of Christ. The Bible, perhaps for the first time in your life will come alive as if the words are flying off the page into your tormented souls.

Now, let’s back up a minute. If you have not stepped out in faith believing the Gospel message, then you have not yet experienced the power of salvation (Romans 1:16). So, let’s assume for a moment that this great power has not reached your heart and that you are still dead in your trespasses (Ephesians 2:1). If that’s the case, then all that we have spoken about thus far makes little sense. There is great power in the Gospel that opens the window to a brand-new life in Christ. Before Christ, you were spiritually dead being tossed about by every wind of doctrine needing the world’s help to solve your mounting problems (Ephesians 4:14; II Peter 1:3). God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to teach us about His love and literally take our place on the Cross to pay the penalty for our trespasses. These are the same trespasses that separated us from God causing us to die spiritually. When we believe that Christ died for us on the Cross and the third day was raised from the dead to give us a new life, then it opened the door to salvation. When we pick up our cross through faith, die to self, and follow Christ in His resurrection, we will be a new creation in Christ (II Corinthians 5:17). Although this is a beautiful first step, many never go any further to experience the true benefits of Christ. So, let’s press on and look closely at the true benefits of Christ.

I have already mentioned that Jesus Christ wants to be our lifelong friend. He wants to be a very close friend, every moment of every day even while you are working, eating, and socializing with others. If you close out Christ during these times, then you will have missed the true benefits of Christ. Jesus is with you every moment, or He is not with you at all. Pause, and think about that for a moment before we proceed. The Bible says that we are in Christ (Romans 8:1). It also says that Christ and the Father are in us (John 14:23). Furthermore, we also have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us as the seal of our salvation, the Teacher, and the dispenser of Spiritual gifts (John 14:15-18). Wow! We can never speak about loneliness again. Are you beginning to see the benefits of Christ? God will forgive us of all our sins, make us alive in Christ as a new creation, be with us every moment of every day, and teach us how to experience the glories of our new life in Christ (II Corinthians 5:17). As we explore the benefits of Christ, we will experience heavenly bliss on earth as it is in heaven. This is exactly what God wants for all of His children who are called out of darkness and into a marvelous light (I Peter 2:9). To experience anything less, like the lukewarm church, must break the Father’s heart.

Our Father in heaven wants us to experience every Spiritual blessing (Ephesians 1:3). Of course, our greatest benefit is salvation from the powers of darkness and eternal damnation. We have been made alive in Christ Jesus to hear our Savior’s voice and to feel His abiding presence even in the midst of the chaos (John 10:27). We have been made alive to be bright lights in a very dark world (Matthew 5:16). Even the horror of persecution cannot separate us from God’s love that flows powerfully through every fiber of our being, bringing a peace that defies understanding (Romans 8:38-39; Philippians 4:7). God, the Father does not relish our trials and tribulations but rejoices in them to strengthen His beloved children to fill up the sufferings of Christ (James 1:2; Colossians 1:24). As we are strengthened in Christ, the barnacles of the old sin nature fall off, and we learn to trust more in His loving providence to work all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Step by step, we no longer see through a darkened glass but can clearly see the Spiritual path before us. Oh, what joy it is to see, really see for the first time, that God’s ways are so much higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8). All the important things of the fallen world seem like foolishness to the way that’s now been opened to us.

Oh, what a glorious way it is, to experience every Spiritual blessing from the hand of Christ. Oh, what absolute joy it is to experience the brief times of heavenly bliss on earth as it will continually be in heaven. The Spiritual blessings now can be happily realized in those little unseen miracles where you know with all assurance that God was there working everything out for the best. Have you ever seen the impossible suddenly become possible? It was nothing that you necessarily prayed about or even expected, it just happened. This is what I have always referred to as God’s little miracles. The longer we walk with God trusting in His loving providence the easier it becomes to recognize those many little miracles in the believer’s life. After we reach perfection in the heavenly places, we will see every miracle as it happens. Our participation in the miracle will radically change in that our heavenly desire and the miracle will become as one. Wishful thinking will be a misnomer because our righteous thinking will become a spiritual reality in heavenly places. Every step of the way we will rejoice that Christ is working through us causing all things to work together according to His will, witnessing little miracles, and touching others for Christ. Although there are many benefits in Christ, there is none greater than we will never walk alone.

Don’t Give Up on God

We are now clearly in the time of the falling away, especially in the West (II Thessalonians 2:3). I believe that many have simply given up on God. Perhaps they have forgotten or haven’t ever known that God loves them deeply. Perhaps with the discovery of the size and depth of space with its infinite distance, mankind feels that they are too small in the sight of God, or they feel insignificant. They ask candidly, “Does God believe in me?” With all the horrific pain in the world, many ask does God really care. They ask, “How can a loving God allow this tragic circumstance, happen to me?” Every day it gets tougher for humanity. Every day many wonder if they can make it another day as the world grows increasingly more dangerous from unchecked lawlessness to the threat of a nuclear war. Every day many experience the trauma of emotional and psychological problems. Every day many feel the brunt of the many different natural disasters destroying their homes, their livelihoods, and even their loved ones. Let’s be quite clear Satan, our old arch-enemy, wants us to give up on God. His one aim is to destroy your relationship with God. Continue reading Don’t Give Up on God

Anticipating the Glories of Heaven

What is your anticipation of heaven? Most of the western world has been captivated by the loss of Queen Elizabeth II, causing many to ponder their own deaths and the hereafter. Although they may not be vocal about their own coming deaths and their anticipation of heaven, I suggest that many are pondering those thoughts deep within their own hearts. So, I am asking you to pause for a moment of silence, look to heaven, and let us ponder the glories of heaven together. Let us approach the throne of grace together asking our Lord Jesus Christ to show us the unspeakable glories of heaven. As our static existence measured by time no longer exists, we enter into the glories of eternity. We are no longer captive to time and space but set free to experience all of creation in a timeless environment. Can you imagine the glory of not being locked into time, but having the ability to travel to the stars in the blink of an eye? I hope and pray that every believer in Christ has thought much about the glories of heaven and has their own anticipation based on their personal walk with Jesus Christ and Holy Scripture.
