Standing against Goliath

Our article today is “Standing against Goliath.” Today we continue our series of articles that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness. When David stood against his Goliath he stood against the largest and most feared soldier of his time. When William Wilberforce stood against the evil slave trade in England he stood against the wealthiest and most powerful men of his time. But in both cases God won the victory by vanquishing their foes and leading His people to a path of righteousness. Over 200 years later God is about to win another victory against the strongest, the wealthiest, and most well connected giant of our time. This is a foe so strong that it has captured the entire world population, casting its majority into the shackles of slavery and a life of total dependence. Yet this situation is not unlike times past when Hitler controlled an entire population, with the exception of a few thousand righteous men and women. When slavery becomes blind and the restraints no longer visible they say the conscious mind is truly seared. With the entire world denying its slavery, while immersed in a quagmire of unrighteousness, focused on wars and rumors of war, the giant tightens his grip.  Who will fight Goliath when nearly all of humanity denies his existence? The Blessed Hope

Our article today is “The Blessed Hope.” Today we continue our series of articles that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness. As we fast approach the end of days the stress on all of humanity is increasing exponentially. This stress caused in large part by the intensity of natural disasters is having a profound effect on the human psyche causing many to lose hope. Hopelessness has trapped many into a life of endless psychological counseling and psychiatric drug addiction, while many others have turned to a life of crime in an attempt to recoup their losses. I am afraid we are just seeing the tip of the iceberg with strange and erratic behavior with a growing sense of hopelessness to contain it. From individuals eating the face off another individual to running head long into traffic, almost no one is pointing their finger at the increasing demonic influence on humanity. If that were not enough, very many people are losing hope in their elected leaders to solve the world’s problems of mounting debt, staggering unemployment, global terrorism, and a real threat of war.  As nation states teeter on the brink of bankruptcy with the fear of unchecked anarchy the world is progressively losing its hope. Hopelessness reigns. Continue reading The Blessed Hope

Finding Answers to Life’s Problems

Today we continue our series of articles that proclaim that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness. As the Church prepares to celebrate the Resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ, unfortunately many in the world don’t feel much like celebrating. A dark shadow has been cast over the world from an increase in rampant lawlessness to the destabilization of other nations. The stress level of the world’s population is off the scale due to fear of catastrophic natural disasters, impending pandemics, the possibility of world war, or an increase in bloody persecution of Christians. The world is faced with a multitude of problems. In our struggle to walk as children of light in a dark world we have all lost many battles to the old nature and the enemy. Many Christians who are burdened with life’s problems find little accurate and authoritative counsel from others. For many they find little comfort or direction from the Bible which has resulted in a life of bondage to emotional and psychological problems forcing them to the world’s counselors to find a cure. Often times in desperation they have readily accepted the remedy of psychotropic (mind altering) drugs leading to life of addiction, other dependence, and spiritual depression. By God’s grace I want to spare you of that. Continue reading Finding Answers to Life’s Problems

Breaking Point

Out of nowhere a tornado strikes un-expectantly in the Dallas area, while England is submerged under the worst flooding imaginable, then there is the constant threat of terrorism, unknown plagues, or lawlessness in the streets of America. The stress is beyond measure as more people line up at the counselors office or stock up more food and ammo to prepare for the inevitable. And if we are honest many of us or the people we know may already be reaching their breaking point. As we enter a New Year then wisdom says we must insulate our self with the pure teaching of God’s Word now before we reach our breaking point. Continue reading Breaking Point

Loneliness

As we have already seen in the previous articles many things can cause depression and the more problems not dealt with in a biblical way, the deeper the depression. So let’s look at another problem that can cause depression, which so many suffer from today – loneliness. Why does loneliness run so rampant in our society? Could it be because there is little face to face fellowship with other people on a regular basis? Much of the world spends an enormous amount of time sitting in front of their TV sets, their computers, or on their Smartphones. Indeed there is plenty to keep us busy, but many have only a few friends, if any at all, and they too are busy sitting in front of their TV sets, their computers, and on their Smartphones. After awhile, loneliness can turn into depression especially if there are other problems present that are not dealt with in a biblical way.
