The Witness of Our Hope

How do we become powerful witnesses of our hope, in the Last Days? Sadly, to say, there are very few powerful witnesses in our day. In an age of the lukewarm church and increasing immorality among the world’s population, we need a powerful witness, or Christianity as we now know it, will cease to exist, except a few isolated enclaves. The Words of Holy Scripture may be fulfilled sooner than you think, that says, “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations” (Revelation 13:7). In our study today we will take our lead from the two witnesses in the last days who stood toe to toe with the beast, whose witness was so strong that their words were like flaming fire coming out of their mouth to overcome those who would come against them. (Read Revelation 11:1-11) Dear friends, we need such a witness in our day. Although before we attempt to witness, we need to have our hope firmly planted in our hearts. We must know what we truly believe, unfortunately, many in our day don’t know what they believe.

The established Church for thousands of years have had their statements of faith, a collection of enlightened doctrine by their learned professors, they passed on to their flock or church members. Through rigorous training and memorization, they were taught to stand firm on these important church doctrines even if they must endure persecution. In time these church doctrines reached well beyond or ignored those areas that have come under direct attack by the devil. They settled primarily for doctrines that would only address worship, commitment, prayer, tithing, confession, and the finer points of theology. It’s these later points of theology that over time have lost their appeal to the masses because they didn’t seem to address their everyday difficulties in life. When the church fell silent, unable to give the masses biblical guidance, they stopped believing in the sufficiency of Scripture to answer man’s problems. As the confessional fell silent, most started looking to the world to address their many emotional and psychological problems. They started looking to the world to give them liberty for their life of promiscuity, unwanted children, and unnatural sexual urges. They stopped believing the true doctrines of our faith and the hope we have in Christ. Dear friends, it’s past time to know and understand the hope we have within us. It’s time to memorize these unchangeable truths, to hide them in our hearts, and have them on our lips ready to confront the world as a powerful witness.

Before we confront the world there is one more thing we need to do. As the two witnesses measured the Temple and those who worship there, they also measured the outer courts and those who are there. We must see and understand the lies that’s believed by the world. So, what are these lies, that need to be confronted with the truth? They say mankind can solve all his own problems through psychiatric counseling and the administering of drugs. They say that public education must be free from the restraints of religion, and specifically, Christianity, to allow the children to choose their own gender and develop their own ethical norms within the constrict of an evolving society. They say that the Ten Commandments are archaic and have no place in modern society and the rule of government. They say that the Bible is no longer relevant allowing the free reign of sexual immorality, homosexuality, and the transgender to flourish in society. They say that God did not create man but that he evolved from a lower form of life. They deny the sanctity of life by legalizing abortion and euthanasia. We must learn to spot these lies in every area of life, from the schoolroom to the family reunion; from the workplace to the marketplace; from the news media to social media; from entertainment on television we watch to the books we read, to the games we play. First, we must learn to spot the lies. I am sad to say most Christians in our day have become blind and can no longer see the lie.

Once we see and recognize the lie, we must as God’s beloved children, speak or witness the truth in power. The Bible says, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear” (I Peter 3:15). We can no longer remain silent or speak timidly. On the other hand, we must speak with boldness, clarity, with meekness and fear of the Lord. Meekness is not weakness. It is having great strength under control and in our case, it is witnessing or speaking under control of the Lord, allowing Him to speak through us. When we do, it will be like fire coming out of our mouths to overcome those coming against us with their lies. Now imagine with me for a moment, if every believer witnessed the truth in power, it would turn the world upside down. Political parties can’t do it, other world religions can’t do it, social media can’t do it, and the lukewarm church can’t do it. Only one thing can. The powerful witness of every single child of God. Your age makes no difference, your church affiliation makes no difference, your gender makes no difference. We must all join the two witnesses and stand toe to toe with the beast.

So, what do we witness? We witness our hope:

“We trust in God alone to solve all our emotional and psychological problems, who created everything that exists. We did not evolve. As new people in Christ, we are being transformed into His likeness. Old things have passed away. Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven. All other paths lead straight to hell. We believe in the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman. All other unions are an abomination. We believe that all life is sacred at the moment of conception. Abortion is murder. Life is sacred for both the aged and the infirm. We will monitor the teaching of our children, which should include Bible study and prayer, if they violate our beliefs, we will pull them out of public education. We believe that the wrath of God is allowing fallen humanity to reap the consequences of their many sins. Whereas, to accept His plan of salvation brings peace and great joy. We believe in the inerrancy and sufficiency of Scripture. We believe in the power of the Gospel that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, was buried for three days, and was raised from the dead.”

Dear children, memorize these unchangeable truths, hide them in your hearts, and have them on your lips ready to confront the world as a powerful witness. Once you notice the lie, then you must immediately, as God leads, witness this truth in boldness, clarity, compassion, and meekness. When you do, then you will be joining with the two witnesses in the Book of Revelation by standing toe to toe with the lies of Satan and the coming beast.

Will Christianity be Classified as a Mental Illness? (Video)

Before we attempt to answer the question, “Will Christianity be classified as a mental illness,” it’s important to understand that not everyone who calls upon the Name of Christ is cut from the same cloth or holds to the same doctrine. As classic Christianity drifts to the left of center it looks and acts more like the world of fallen humanity every day. After watching the video on my secure website, please share with others. Will Christianity be Classified as a Mental Illness?

Before we attempt to answer the question, “Will Christianity be classified as a mental illness,” it’s important to understand that not everyone who calls upon the Name of Christ is cut from the same cloth or holds to the same doctrine. As classic Christianity drifts to the left of center it looks and acts more like the world of fallen humanity every day. Most in this large group gladly accept the label placed upon them individually as suffering from some form of mental illness needing the counsel and medication supplied by the fallen world. In time, it has become so accepted by the local church that psychiatrists are asked to teach from their pulpits and even train their counselors in the proper methods of counseling. Most so-called biblical counseling is so integrated with the techniques of psychiatric counseling, it’s difficult to see the difference, other than an occasional quote from the Bible. This unholy wedding has already taken place between the psychiatric dogma established by the fallen world and the biblical doctrine of the local church to produce a new man for the modern age. This new man is no longer subject to the doctrine of his church but is now held accountable by the new teachings of the fallen humanity that will affect every area of his social-economic life.

For some time now we were required to pass a series of psychological tests and in some cases fit into a certain profile to be hired. Furthermore, it was also required to advance in our careers, to enter public office, or to serve in the military. Many companies these days also require your attendance at seminars and training sessions steeped in psychological methods to improve your productivity and to develop your workplace behavior. No longer is the church or its teachings on behavioral issues required or even wanted. Working hand in hand with law enforcement and the courts, psychiatry has for some time now filled the void left by the church’s failure to hold their membership accountable to Christian moral behavior. Now families are broken up as courts intervene, requiring extensive psychological counseling, assigning them a permanent label for their newly prescribed mental illness, and in most cases psychiatric drugs in an attempt to cure their new behavioral problems. The real tragedy is that the local church, if they are willing, are no longer allowed to address their behavioral problems even if no law has really been broken or if charges have not been pressed against them. The church is no longer allowed to be the same church that Christ established two thousand years ago.

When will the church start being the church? When will we truly come out from among them and help our brothers and sisters to grow up in Christ? (See II Corinthians 6:17) When will we help them to be transformed in Christ? Those are some hard questions for a hard and difficult age. I believe the best we can hope for is to start with small groups of sincere believers that want desperately to follow the Christian Way no matter what the consequences may be. I can tell you the fallen world will not go quietly into the night. They will fight back. They will fight back with the same arsenal that they have been stockpiling for the past two hundred years. They will fight back with their accepted belief system that mankind’s answers to all his problems fall in the archives of their psychiatric techniques and its approved drugs. They have already won over the largest part of the Christian Church and most other world religions. What’s left to conquer is what they have classified as fringe groups either in other world religions or in groups that claim to be following the Christian Way and specifically the rejection of psychiatry and its psychotropic drugs to control the behavior of its members.

As new people in Christ, we are convinced that only Christ and the indwelling Spirit has the power to cause people to change through faith. Only Christ can take a very immoral person that has done great harm to society and completely change his heart. The Bible says, “And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God” (Ezekiel 11:19-20). What a tremendously beautiful and powerful prophecy fulfilled by the Messiah, Jesus Christ our Lord. The very cornerstone of who we are, as God’s beloved children, His true Church, is that God alone has the power to change our hearts through faith. We as believers in Christ cannot and must not allow the State, in league with the devil, to take this away from us. If we do, then we are no longer the true Church. We must come out from among them and stand firm on our belief in the infallibility of God’s Word, the sufficiency of Scripture, and the exclusiveness of Christianity, which are the hallmarks of who we are in Christ Jesus.

Make no mistake the world of fallen humanity will fight back by proclaiming that all fringe religious groups, including those who claim to be Christian, are mentally ill. They will design a simple fail or pass test to determine if we are mentally ill and in need of counseling, drugs, and in certain cases incarceration. Everyone who fails this test will also have all their weapons forcefully removed once a label has been placed upon them for being mentally ill. So, what is the content of this simple, pass or fail, test? We don’t know at this point but can only speculate. Perhaps some of the questions would be: (1) do you believe that your God can completely change your behavior without the help of psychiatric counseling and prescribed drugs, (2) do you believe that God has made you into a new creation where old things have passed away and you no longer need our help in dealing with your past and its problems; (3) do you really believe that your God can transform your life in Christ where you no longer need the help of the State and its resources of psychiatry? Of course, to answer any of the questions with a positive affirmation of God’s abilities will give you the mark of a Christian fringe group and clearly classified as having a mental illness. God help your beloved children to come out from among them and stand firm.

When we come out, we will need to make certain that we have preachers and teachers that know how to use God’s Word alone to give godly counsel to all its members. We can’t say that we believe in the sufficiency of Scripture and then not known how to give godly instructions from the Bible to solve every emotional and psychological problem known to man. Indeed, the Bible is true, when it says, “… and there is no new thing under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9). If we really believe God’s Word that says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue” (II Peter 1:3), then we would search the Scriptures, through the direction of the indwelling Spirit, until we find the truth needed to give proper counsel. We would do this without the help of fallen humanity. We would trust God to bring forth healing to our brothers and sisters’ heart. We would learn how to encourage one another, to edify, to admonish, and to counsel one another in the power of God to bring forth change in their hearts. We would learn how to respectfully hold them accountable in the Spirit of love and affection. Let’s come out from among them and be the true Church. Amen

On Which Truths Are You Willing to Die? (Video)

As we approach the end, we need to know, which truths we are willing to be persecuted for, even to death if necessary. We cannot wait until it happens before we decide. Let’s be clear, your persecutors will typically give you an opportunity to recant of your strongly held beliefs and accept their false religion or heretical beliefs. If you refuse to recant then you will be hated, shunned, or persecuted. We must prepare now. After watching this video on my secure website, please share with others.

On Which Truths Are You Willing to Die?

As we approach the end, we need to know, which truths we are willing to be persecuted for, even to death if necessary. We cannot wait until it happens before we decide. Let’s be clear, your persecutors will typically give you an opportunity to recant of your strongly held beliefs and accept their false religion or heretical beliefs. If you refuse to recant then you will be hated, shunned, or persecuted. We must prepare now by being fully committed to what we believe in, knowing that it is the irrevocable truth from God’s Word. Moreover, our firmly held beliefs should have a direct correlation with our salvation and its process from beginning to end. If we don’t have a firm grip on what we believe, then it will be easy for Satan and his demonic host to lead us into error and eternal damnation. This will not be an exhaustive study of everything in which we as Christians should believe but will only examine the pillars of our belief system that must not be recanted of, even if we must face a cruel and untimely death. You will soon discover the three topics that will be discussed are already under attack by the unbelieving world.

The first topic is our belief in the infallibility of the Bible. Unlike mankind who is fallible and prone to making very many mistakes, we believe that the Word of God, the Bible, is infallible. We also believe in the inerrancy of the Scripture where there is no error in the original text received and written down under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (See II Peter 1:20-21). The Apostle Paul writing to his young apprentice says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works” (II Timothy 3:16-17). We simply do not need to change the Bible that was written down for all of life and for every age. It doesn’t need to change because it is written in a simple straight forward language, perfectly correct in all its parts, and without any error. The error only comes when we as fallible human beings think we have the ability and the authority to re-interpret or change God’s inerrant Word in the Bible. No one, including the Pope or prophet, has the authority to change the infallible Word of God, which is often done by self-righteous men to introduce strange doctrines or heretical teachings into the Church that will inevitably lead men astray. This is also accomplished by freely taking Scripture out of its historical context and twisting other Scripture verses to develop a new doctrine, thus changing the clear interpretation of God’s Word. The infallible Bible is the bedrock of our faith and contains all the essential information for our salvation and transformation in Christ. To change or reinterpret the Bible destroys our entire belief system. Yes, I would be willing to die for my belief in the infallibility of the Bible.

Our second topic is the exclusiveness of Christianity. Mankind has believed in some form of religion since the beginning of creation to help them to understand their world and how to live in it without a paralyzing fear of the unknown. As the global community has grown smaller a single shared path to a universal god, instead of multiple paths, is becoming more readily acceptable to the masses. After years of religious wars and mass migrations, many have now started relaxing their own national (or traditional) beliefs and join with the global community of a shared religion, or a quasi-secular religion established by the State. Worldwide Social Media has greatly helped this process with the sharing of information across religious lines. A single path to God based on One personage or set of beliefs is becoming less acceptable and out of step with the modern world. Yet, the Bible says, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6). Most people these days will not accept the fact that there is only one way and that there is only one truth. Their ears will be itching to hear about the other religions and how the so-called good points can be integrated into their religion. This cafeteria style of religion is leading to a universal religion for the masses. The Bible says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Jesus Christ gave us the only path to salvation that leads to a new and bountiful life in Him, which we will talk about in the next topic. Moreover, what makes Christianity exclusive? Christ is the divine Son of God who died on the Cross, rose from the grave, and is now seated at the right hand of God in Heaven. Yes, I would be willing to die for my belief in the exclusiveness of Christianity.

The third topic is the sufficiency of Scripture. This topic is the closest to my heart in that I have personally witnessed so many who have not experienced the bountiful life in Christ. They were stuck in the old life going through the same pains and experiencing the same defeats because they could not accept the Lord’s promise of a new life in Christ where old things truly pass away (see II Corinthians 5:17). They believed the lies of the world, propagated by the devil. Instead of turning to the truth in God’s infallible Word, they turned to the professionals of this age and the pharmaceutical companies to find help for their miserably sad lives. I believe this has played a major role in the great falling away. So, how sufficient is the Bible? The Bible clearly says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: (II Peter 1:3). So, if Christ has given us a brand new life, promising us that old things have passed away, then He gives us all the instructions in His Word on how to perfect this life through transformation in-Christ, so that we can be partakers of the divine nature (See II Peter 1:4), then who are we to question God? Who are we to question His great and precious promises? God wants to make us into a beautiful new creation. He wants to grow us spiritually from one degree of glory to another (See II Corinthians 3:18). As we study the Bible, we will learn how to overcome anxiety, loneliness, grief, guilt, fear, and depression along with many other emotional and psychological problems. It will show us the path through faith to the bountiful life in Christ. Yes, I would be willing to die for my belief in the sufficiency of Scripture.

In conclusion, there are many other beliefs that we hold, such as the actual dates of holy days, to the exact timing of Christ’s Second Coming, which are all very important, but I would question seriously the need to withstand persecution to death in order to defend your take on them. For example, I believe wholeheartedly that the Church must go through the Great Tribulation before they see Christ gloriously coming back in the clouds, but I would not allow myself to be persecuted to death on that particular belief. There are some teachings in the Bible that will always be up for debate and should not separate the brethren or cast us before the stake of persecution. At some points, we simply must agree to disagree, if we cannot convince the other believer through a sound argument from God’s infallible Word in love. What’s most important about this study is standing firm on the truth of our salvation in Christ, it’s miracle of the transformation, and growing up to experience the bountiful life in Christ. Although you will soon realize that the last two topics: the exclusiveness of Christianity and the sufficiency of Scripture will get the most blow-back from the fallen world, we must stand firm in what we believe. We must prepare now for the coming persecution. This article was written to help you do just that. Let me leave you with two very important questions. What would you be willing to die for? And more importantly, what are you willing to live for?
