Will Christianity be Classified as a Mental Illness?

Before we attempt to answer the question, “Will Christianity be classified as a mental illness,” it’s important to understand that not everyone who calls upon the Name of Christ is cut from the same cloth or holds to the same doctrine. As classic Christianity drifts to the left of center it looks and acts more like the world of fallen humanity every day. Most in this large group gladly accept the label placed upon them individually as suffering from some form of mental illness needing the counsel and medication supplied by the fallen world. In time, it has become so accepted by the local church that psychiatrists are asked to teach from their pulpits and even train their counselors in the proper methods of counseling. Most so-called biblical counseling is so integrated with the techniques of psychiatric counseling, it’s difficult to see the difference, other than an occasional quote from the Bible. This unholy wedding has already taken place between the psychiatric dogma established by the fallen world and the biblical doctrine of the local church to produce a new man for the modern age. This new man is no longer subject to the doctrine of his church but is now held accountable by the new teachings of the fallen humanity that will affect every area of his social-economic life.

For some time now we were required to pass a series of psychological tests and in some cases fit into a certain profile to be hired. Furthermore, it was also required to advance in our careers, to enter public office, or to serve in the military. Many companies these days also require your attendance at seminars and training sessions steeped in psychological methods to improve your productivity and to develop your workplace behavior. No longer is the church or its teachings on behavioral issues required or even wanted. Working hand in hand with law enforcement and the courts, psychiatry has for some time now filled the void left by the church’s failure to hold their membership accountable to Christian moral behavior. Now families are broken up as courts intervene, requiring extensive psychological counseling, assigning them a permanent label for their newly prescribed mental illness, and in most cases psychiatric drugs in an attempt to cure their new behavioral problems. The real tragedy is that the local church, if they are willing, are no longer allowed to address their behavioral problems even if no law has really been broken or if charges have not been pressed against them. The church is no longer allowed to be the same church that Christ established two thousand years ago.

When will the church start being the church? When will we truly come out from among them and help our brothers and sisters to grow up in Christ? (See II Corinthians 6:17) When will we help them to be transformed in Christ? Those are some hard questions for a hard and difficult age. I believe the best we can hope for is to start with small groups of sincere believers that want desperately to follow the Christian Way no matter what the consequences may be. I can tell you the fallen world will not go quietly into the night. They will fight back. They will fight back with the same arsenal that they have been stockpiling for the past two hundred years. They will fight back with their accepted belief system that mankind’s answers to all his problems fall in the archives of their psychiatric techniques and its approved drugs. They have already won over the largest part of the Christian Church and most other world religions. What’s left to conquer is what they have classified as fringe groups either in other world religions or in groups that claim to be following the Christian Way and specifically the rejection of psychiatry and its psychotropic drugs to control the behavior of its members.

As new people in Christ, we are convinced that only Christ and the indwelling Spirit has the power to cause people to change through faith. Only Christ can take a very immoral person that has done great harm to society and completely change his heart. The Bible says, “And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God” (Ezekiel 11:19-20). What a tremendously beautiful and powerful prophecy fulfilled by the Messiah, Jesus Christ our Lord. The very cornerstone of who we are, as God’s beloved children, His true Church, is that God alone has the power to change our hearts through faith. We as believers in Christ cannot and must not allow the State, in league with the devil, to take this away from us. If we do, then we are no longer the true Church. We must come out from among them and stand firm on our belief in the infallibility of God’s Word, the sufficiency of Scripture, and the exclusiveness of Christianity, which are the hallmarks of who we are in Christ Jesus.

Make no mistake the world of fallen humanity will fight back by proclaiming that all fringe religious groups, including those who claim to be Christian, are mentally ill. They will design a simple fail or pass test to determine if we are mentally ill and in need of counseling, drugs, and in certain cases incarceration. Everyone who fails this test will also have all their weapons forcefully removed once a label has been placed upon them for being mentally ill. So, what is the content of this simple, pass or fail, test? We don’t know at this point but can only speculate. Perhaps some of the questions would be: (1) do you believe that your God can completely change your behavior without the help of psychiatric counseling and prescribed drugs, (2) do you believe that God has made you into a new creation where old things have passed away and you no longer need our help in dealing with your past and its problems; (3) do you really believe that your God can transform your life in Christ where you no longer need the help of the State and its resources of psychiatry? Of course, to answer any of the questions with a positive affirmation of God’s abilities will give you the mark of a Christian fringe group and clearly classified as having a mental illness. God help your beloved children to come out from among them and stand firm.

When we come out, we will need to make certain that we have preachers and teachers that know how to use God’s Word alone to give godly counsel to all its members. We can’t say that we believe in the sufficiency of Scripture and then not known how to give godly instructions from the Bible to solve every emotional and psychological problem known to man. Indeed, the Bible is true, when it says, “… and there is no new thing under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9). If we really believe God’s Word that says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue” (II Peter 1:3), then we would search the Scriptures, through the direction of the indwelling Spirit, until we find the truth needed to give proper counsel. We would do this without the help of fallen humanity. We would trust God to bring forth healing to our brothers and sisters’ heart. We would learn how to encourage one another, to edify, to admonish, and to counsel one another in the power of God to bring forth change in their hearts. We would learn how to respectfully hold them accountable in the Spirit of love and affection. Let’s come out from among them and be the true Church. Amen

On Which Truths Are You Willing to Die? (Video)

As we approach the end, we need to know, which truths we are willing to be persecuted for, even to death if necessary. We cannot wait until it happens before we decide. Let’s be clear, your persecutors will typically give you an opportunity to recant of your strongly held beliefs and accept their false religion or heretical beliefs. If you refuse to recant then you will be hated, shunned, or persecuted. We must prepare now. After watching this video on my secure website, please share with others.

On Which Truths Are You Willing to Die?

As we approach the end, we need to know, which truths we are willing to be persecuted for, even to death if necessary. We cannot wait until it happens before we decide. Let’s be clear, your persecutors will typically give you an opportunity to recant of your strongly held beliefs and accept their false religion or heretical beliefs. If you refuse to recant then you will be hated, shunned, or persecuted. We must prepare now by being fully committed to what we believe in, knowing that it is the irrevocable truth from God’s Word. Moreover, our firmly held beliefs should have a direct correlation with our salvation and its process from beginning to end. If we don’t have a firm grip on what we believe, then it will be easy for Satan and his demonic host to lead us into error and eternal damnation. This will not be an exhaustive study of everything in which we as Christians should believe but will only examine the pillars of our belief system that must not be recanted of, even if we must face a cruel and untimely death. You will soon discover the three topics that will be discussed are already under attack by the unbelieving world.

The first topic is our belief in the infallibility of the Bible. Unlike mankind who is fallible and prone to making very many mistakes, we believe that the Word of God, the Bible, is infallible. We also believe in the inerrancy of the Scripture where there is no error in the original text received and written down under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (See II Peter 1:20-21). The Apostle Paul writing to his young apprentice says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works” (II Timothy 3:16-17). We simply do not need to change the Bible that was written down for all of life and for every age. It doesn’t need to change because it is written in a simple straight forward language, perfectly correct in all its parts, and without any error. The error only comes when we as fallible human beings think we have the ability and the authority to re-interpret or change God’s inerrant Word in the Bible. No one, including the Pope or prophet, has the authority to change the infallible Word of God, which is often done by self-righteous men to introduce strange doctrines or heretical teachings into the Church that will inevitably lead men astray. This is also accomplished by freely taking Scripture out of its historical context and twisting other Scripture verses to develop a new doctrine, thus changing the clear interpretation of God’s Word. The infallible Bible is the bedrock of our faith and contains all the essential information for our salvation and transformation in Christ. To change or reinterpret the Bible destroys our entire belief system. Yes, I would be willing to die for my belief in the infallibility of the Bible.

Our second topic is the exclusiveness of Christianity. Mankind has believed in some form of religion since the beginning of creation to help them to understand their world and how to live in it without a paralyzing fear of the unknown. As the global community has grown smaller a single shared path to a universal god, instead of multiple paths, is becoming more readily acceptable to the masses. After years of religious wars and mass migrations, many have now started relaxing their own national (or traditional) beliefs and join with the global community of a shared religion, or a quasi-secular religion established by the State. Worldwide Social Media has greatly helped this process with the sharing of information across religious lines. A single path to God based on One personage or set of beliefs is becoming less acceptable and out of step with the modern world. Yet, the Bible says, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6). Most people these days will not accept the fact that there is only one way and that there is only one truth. Their ears will be itching to hear about the other religions and how the so-called good points can be integrated into their religion. This cafeteria style of religion is leading to a universal religion for the masses. The Bible says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Jesus Christ gave us the only path to salvation that leads to a new and bountiful life in Him, which we will talk about in the next topic. Moreover, what makes Christianity exclusive? Christ is the divine Son of God who died on the Cross, rose from the grave, and is now seated at the right hand of God in Heaven. Yes, I would be willing to die for my belief in the exclusiveness of Christianity.

The third topic is the sufficiency of Scripture. This topic is the closest to my heart in that I have personally witnessed so many who have not experienced the bountiful life in Christ. They were stuck in the old life going through the same pains and experiencing the same defeats because they could not accept the Lord’s promise of a new life in Christ where old things truly pass away (see II Corinthians 5:17). They believed the lies of the world, propagated by the devil. Instead of turning to the truth in God’s infallible Word, they turned to the professionals of this age and the pharmaceutical companies to find help for their miserably sad lives. I believe this has played a major role in the great falling away. So, how sufficient is the Bible? The Bible clearly says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: (II Peter 1:3). So, if Christ has given us a brand new life, promising us that old things have passed away, then He gives us all the instructions in His Word on how to perfect this life through transformation in-Christ, so that we can be partakers of the divine nature (See II Peter 1:4), then who are we to question God? Who are we to question His great and precious promises? God wants to make us into a beautiful new creation. He wants to grow us spiritually from one degree of glory to another (See II Corinthians 3:18). As we study the Bible, we will learn how to overcome anxiety, loneliness, grief, guilt, fear, and depression along with many other emotional and psychological problems. It will show us the path through faith to the bountiful life in Christ. Yes, I would be willing to die for my belief in the sufficiency of Scripture.

In conclusion, there are many other beliefs that we hold, such as the actual dates of holy days, to the exact timing of Christ’s Second Coming, which are all very important, but I would question seriously the need to withstand persecution to death in order to defend your take on them. For example, I believe wholeheartedly that the Church must go through the Great Tribulation before they see Christ gloriously coming back in the clouds, but I would not allow myself to be persecuted to death on that particular belief. There are some teachings in the Bible that will always be up for debate and should not separate the brethren or cast us before the stake of persecution. At some points, we simply must agree to disagree, if we cannot convince the other believer through a sound argument from God’s infallible Word in love. What’s most important about this study is standing firm on the truth of our salvation in Christ, it’s miracle of the transformation, and growing up to experience the bountiful life in Christ. Although you will soon realize that the last two topics: the exclusiveness of Christianity and the sufficiency of Scripture will get the most blow-back from the fallen world, we must stand firm in what we believe. We must prepare now for the coming persecution. This article was written to help you do just that. Let me leave you with two very important questions. What would you be willing to die for? And more importantly, what are you willing to live for?

The Truth is Falling on Deaf Ears (Video)

Clearly, the Spirit is speaking, even in the last days, but very few take the time to hear His voice. This can be primarily explained in one statement, “we are staying too busy and allowing interruptions during our quiet time.” Satan and the world are working overtime to keep you so busy, and if perchance you try to listen to the Spirit, you are interrupted. The Spirit is speaking the truth in the last days but it’s falling on deaf ears. Don’t miss the three amazing vocalists and much more. The Truth is Falling on Deaf Ears

The Bible says, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches” (Revelation 3:22). We, as true believers in-Christ are the Church, contrary to what label is placed upon the building often referred to incorrectly as the church. God has something to specifically say to you and perhaps to the rest of His beloved children, who typically meet in your same geographical area, either in your State or Country. We don’t serve a mute God. God spoke the creation into existence and is busy now speaking to you, His new creations in Christ. So, as God’s true Church, how can we have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying. Let’s learn together how to listen.

Before we talk about the many interruptions in your life, that keep you from hearing the Spirit speaking the truth, let’s look at just how busy Satan and the world are keeping you. Essentially, Satan and his demonic host are keeping you deaf. That has been his goal from the beginning. However, in these last days, he has many more tools to keep us busy from morning until night. They say that technology was invented to give humanity a helping hand, to save us time. Although technology may have saved us time, it has also taken back much more time, with the other hand, making us busier and more stressed than at any other time in the history of humanity. We have become slaves to our own technology, which I am sure has been the devil’s plan from the beginning. You might already be asking, “How so?” If we could limit our technology to our eight-hour workday, making the worker more productive, then nothing would be lost, but no, its followed us home. We can now spend hours every day on the cellphone, the computer checking our email or playing games, on social media posting and commenting, driving our smart car, or sitting in front of the big screen being entertained, along with many other things to consume our precious time. We are way too busy to take the needed time necessary to hear the voice of God through the Spirit.

Even if we stopped or cut way back on the time we spend with our devices, there still would be the interruptions. Satan has been doing that since the beginning too. He can either use others to interrupt you, or he’s very good at interrupting you by pulling up thoughts out of your memory allowing you to be consumed for hours or even tormented with the memory. This can be easily done through allowing you to see images or hear sounds, once processed by the brain, to bring back memories to dwell upon. People are saying that they are having a difficult time staying focused. There is no wonder with Satan leading us around by the nose with his interruptions or keeping us busy with technology, that’s supposed to give us more time. Ask yourself a question how much time are you spending chasing the latest so-called prophecies, the latest YouTube video, the latest news article, the latest post on social media, the latest gossip from family or friends, the latest movie, or the latest song to be played on the radio. We are too busy and interrupted by our own thoughts and vain imaginations. We must follow God’s Word by taking back control of our minds and how we spend our time. The Bible says, “Redeem the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:16). If we do redeem the time. then we will be one step closer to hearing what the Spirit is saying to the churches.

Once we have cleared our schedule not allowing any interruptions including our own thoughts then we are ready to listen. Let me start by insisting that God wants to speak. That’s what He does. So, we need ears to hear. The first step is to be patient, which I am afraid to say, is lacking among most of God’s children. We simply cannot tell God, “I have an hour free today, so I will believe that you can speak to me then.” Then I will tell you don’t waste your time it doesn’t work that way. No, I will clear my schedule and seek to spend time with my God, no matter how long it takes. One hour, two hours, three hours or all day. Remember, God knows the sincerity of your heart. I have done that for many years and can tell you most often it takes one to three hours or longer for God to speak showing me how to pray or giving me an idea for my next blog article or News Brief. On the other hand, He has at times spoken immediately, to my great astonishment and joy. Praise God! The bottom line is most have deaf ears and cannot hear what the Spirit says to the churches, because they are too busy and they keep allowing interruptions to keep them from staying focused on the task at hand, listening to what the Spirit says to the churches.

Once the Spirit speaks the next step is to completely let go. Don’t insert your words of wisdom. Don’t attempt to get ahead of the Spirit by thinking surely this sounds better because I have always been taught this or that. Dear friends, when the Spirit speaks, we need to listen. In time, you will learn to have self-control allowing God to speak through the Spirit. I am always amazed how easily He brings different passages of Scripture immediately to our mind, like a flash of lightning. You will notice that there is no precognition. It is God’s Word and He speaks it to us, when He wants, not when we think we are ready. I cannot overemphasize how important it is to die to self and allow God to speak whenever and however He wants. We need to remember; the timing is always His and not ours. I cannot tell you the number of times that I have been awakened in the middle of the night, or very early in the morning, or staying up past my scheduled bedtime when He is ready to speak. The point is when the Spirit speaks, we need to be ready to listen, your entire schedule must be put on hold as we take all the time He wants, to hear everything He wants to say. If more of His children would start listening and stop talking there would be a lot less confusion in the world and particularly among God’s beloved children.

Finally, when God speaks through the Spirit, it is always the truth without any mixture of error. Let’s be very clear about that. I have never known Him to contradict the Holy Scriptures or to give us additional truth that’s not there in the first place. We can study the Bible our entire life and still not fathom all the truth that it contains. It is not a dead word, but the living Word of God for every season and for the time in which we are currently living. His truth in the Bible has all the answers for man’s problems. Every emotional and psychological problem can be answered by the Word of God. Every political dilemma can be answered by the Word of God. As we approach the end, we cannot allow our desires to run in one direction just because we agree with so much of what’s being said, to blind us to the path that we are on and the greater problem that could lie ahead if we wink at the sins or turn a blind eye. The church, God’s precious children, are living in a very precarious time where if we are not careful then we could be caught up in the great falling away. The truth of God’s Word has not changed just because we are living in a modern age with fancy technology. If the Bible says, that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness, which it does, then that truth is just as relevant in the 21st Century as it was in the first. “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches” (Revelation 3:22).
