Four Most Horrifying Words

What a glorious day that will be at the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but for some it will not be so glorious. The unbelieving world will cower in their caves crying out to the rocks to fall upon them and hide them from the coming Lord and His wrath. (See Revelation 6:16-17). On the other hand, all those who claimed to believe in Christ will be awakened at an hour they did not expect and will rush out to meet the Lord with glad tidings in their heart thinking all is well. They all without exception had become drowsy and fell asleep, because the promise of His coming had been for a very long time. To this date its been nearly two thousand years since the promise was first given to His disciples. Perhaps the great missionary efforts had ceased and revivals had become a relic of the past replaced with conferences geared to a favorite doctrine. Even one on one evangelism was frowned upon my most for being too exclusive. It appears that the entire church drifted off to sleep and was only now awakened at the news of Christ’s return which no doubt caused much panic among all to let their light shine in a very dark world as they all rushed to meet the bridegroom. Discerning the Dark Forces of Evil

As deception is falling upon this world are you being deceived or do you have discernment? The extent of the deception in the last days is mind boggling. How strong is this deception? The Bible says, “And it was given unto him (the coming Beast) to make war with the saints, and to overcome them; and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him (the Beast), whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8). To me it is mind boggling that the entire world can be so deceived. Well, the reason is also given. The entire world was deceived “because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved” (See II Thessalonians 2:10). Indeed, the love of the truth will open our spiritual eyes and give us needed discernment for the days in which we live, which we will discuss in detail. Being Sealed Produces Hope

Our article today is called “Being Sealed Produces Hope.” Has anyone noticed that we live in a hopeless generation? As the Doomsday clock clicked two minutes closer to Midnight most wonder if they will survive the coming distress. As the world ponders an increase in global disasters, a nuclear holocaust, worldwide persecution of Christians, or a pandemic the civilization is left with little hope. Anxiety has reached an all-time high. Many are hoping that they will escape the clutches of fanatical terrorist or the terror of evil gangsters roaming our inner-cities. Gun sales have skyrocketed. Many are hoping for financial independence to pay more than the monthly minimum payment, freedom from dependence on the State and its welfare rolls, and the ability to feed and clothe their family. Yet, total dependence upon the State to provide assistance is on the increase. Many others hope for a good marriage that will last, while co-habitation has become the standard. Others hope that they can escape their bondage to the multitude of emotional and psychological problems, yet every day more enter into bondage to worldly counseling and psychiatric drug addiction. The tragedy is that most will not hope beyond what they can see or touch. We live in a hopeless generation! Continue reading Being Sealed Produces Hope

Overcoming Anxiety

Today we continue a series of articles that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness. Everyone will admit that anxiety is the enemy of the mind and another weapon used by the devil. Anxiety is constant worry about making the right decision or the outcome concerning a decision already made. Anxiety is worrying about having enough money to pay the bills, where you’re going to get your next meal, where you are going to sleep, or many other things. Worry can cause a great deal of stress and frustration, which allows the enemy to bring to your mind evil and dangerous thoughts. In short worry opens the door for the devil. The Bible says, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:4-7, italics are mine). Continue reading Overcoming Anxiety

Spirit Counselor

Today we continue a series of articles that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness. We have all been counseled at one time or another by a Father, a Mother, an older brother or sister; by a friend, a pastor, a Christian counselor and perhaps even by a so called professional counselor, who is gaining recognition and authority in today’s world. My question, however, is how many of us actually receive ongoing counsel from God’s Holy Spirit? Before we answer that question in the affirmative let’s ask the Holy Spirit to guide us into a deeper understanding of His work in us. Every true believer in Christ knows with all assurance that we have received a gift of the Holy Spirit to reside in us throughout the remainder of our journey here on earth. He is not just a Holy Visitor but a Permanent Resident that will never leave us nor forsake us. This Third Person of the Trinity is at all times connected to, in relationship with, and at one with both the Son and the Father. What an all powerful love to be with us, to reside in us, throughout all of life during the best of times and the worst of times. Continue reading Spirit Counselor
