When did we stop trusting God? When did we stop trusting Him to really make us into a new creation and then to grow us from one degree of glory to another (See II Corinthians 5:17; 3:18)? When did we stop trusting God? When did we stop trusting Him to really make us into a new creation and then to grow us from one degree of glory to another (See II Corinthians 5:17; 3:18)? Perhaps it all started when the world turned its back on God and then discovered very quickly that humanity was in trouble. Why were they in trouble? There was no longer a moral anchor and humanity began to drift into a greater sea of immorality. Many tried desperately to reign in terror and gross immorality with new laws and mandates, but everything failed. As churches emptied and immorality increased fallen humanity needed a solution and they needed it quick. So, in time they resurrected some old theories of a pagan writer who lived a few centuries earlier; someone who thought he understood human nature. Then with the experimentation of new drugs, seemingly to affect behavior, and this new science of mental health, then the art of modern psychology was born. So, humanity no longer needed God to direct their path and provide them a moral anchor, because a new quasi religion had arrived on the scene to solve all the problems of fallen humanity. So how does all this affect the lukewarm church? Continue reading The Lukewarm Church is Blinded by The World→
We all know that the hallmark of true Christianity is love. Love for God and love for our fellow man and especially for our brother or sister in Christ. Jesus Christ was our greatest example of this kind of love. He fought against the vicious wolves of His day who were destroying the sheep with their human traditions and false doctrine. He stood toe to toe with them not to win an argument, but to protect those who were put into His care by the Heavenly Father. For the sake of the sheep He confronted the blind guides, He argued against the established order, and exposed their dangerous doctrines that kept people in bondage to their human traditions. His love was so great that He healed the sick, cured horrible diseases, made whole the lame, restored eyesight to the blind, and drove out demons that were holding people in bondage. His love was so great for all of His followers that He spent many hours every day teaching the truth about life and liberty. Not only did He want to restore the broken bodies and free their minds from their enslavement to the devil, but He also wanted them to experience the new life – a bountiful life free from anxiety and the stresses of everyday life. Finally, He paid the ultimate price by offering His life as an atoning sacrifice for all those who believe. His love did not stop there, but He made good on His promise to send the Comforter to lead His followers into all truth by reminding them of all that He taught them concerning the new life. He counted the cost and fulfilled His mission. Continue reading The Crucible of Brotherly Love→
Today we continue a series of articles that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness. Everyone will admit that anxiety is the enemy of the mind and another weapon used by the devil. Anxiety is constant worry about making the right decision or the outcome concerning a decision already made. Anxiety is worrying about having enough money to pay the bills, where you’re going to get your next meal, where you are going to sleep, or many other things. Worry can cause a great deal of stress and frustration, which allows the enemy to bring to your mind evil and dangerous thoughts. In short worry opens the door for the devil. The Bible says, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:4-7, italics are mine). Continue reading Overcoming Anxiety→
Our article today is “The Blessed Hope.” Today we continue our series of articles that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness. As we fast approach the end of days the stress on all of humanity is increasing exponentially. This stress caused in large part by the intensity of natural disasters is having a profound effect on the human psyche causing many to lose hope. Hopelessness has trapped many into a life of endless psychological counseling and psychiatric drug addiction, while many others have turned to a life of crime in an attempt to recoup their losses. I am afraid we are just seeing the tip of the iceberg with strange and erratic behavior with a growing sense of hopelessness to contain it. From individuals eating the face off another individual to running head long into traffic, almost no one is pointing their finger at the increasing demonic influence on humanity. If that were not enough, very many people are losing hope in their elected leaders to solve the world’s problems of mounting debt, staggering unemployment, global terrorism, and a real threat of war. As nation states teeter on the brink of bankruptcy with the fear of unchecked anarchy the world is progressively losing its hope. Hopelessness reigns. Continue reading The Blessed Hope→
