At the last Trumpet, the coming of Christ, and the last Judgment many tears will be shed over the words plainly spoken by the Lord, I never knew you, away from me you evildoers! (See Matthew 7:23) In the twinkling of an eye the apostasy will be exposed, the veil will be removed, and millions will realize that they had fallen away. What a horrible day that will be. In the Spirit I can hear the cries of anguish and the heart stopping screams of those who proclaim their innocence. Even their good works could not save them. How could they not be “known” by the Lord? How could they be so blind to the truth? Yet, we now live in a day where millions are unwilling to see their true condition. They have somehow tricked their mind into believing they are known by the Lord, but have become a part of the great apostasy. To shed light on the apostasy we need to take you back to the beginning. We need to go back to a time before social programs, public education, mental health professionals, and a proliferation of drugs engineered to solve every emotional and psychological problem known to man. We need to return to a simple time when Jesus Christ was all things to all men. He came to a hurting people ravaged by a host of wickedness casting people into deep emotional and psychological problems causing bouts of erratic behavior, physical mayhem, and in extreme cases demonic possession. He came to a people hungry not only for bread but for the bread of life as they stumbled aimlessly behind their religious leaders. Their blind guides where leading them into a pit of greater confusion causing them to put their trust in hollow and deceptive philosophies, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world. (See Colossians 2:8) On the other hand, Jesus Christ came proclaiming that they should put their trust in Him alone to lead them into a new everlasting life free from the heavy weight of their captivity.
What has changed in two thousand years? Nothing! Mankind is still following his blind guides no longer trusting, really trusting, in Christ alone to give them a new life in Him. Mankind believes he has come of age where he no longer needs the Christ to make all things new. The modern world can boast of great hospitals for both physical and mental health. They can boast of their new counseling techniques and therapeutic procedures. They can boast of their new drugs designed to give a new and better life free from the ravages of this world (no longer called the host of wickedness). They can boast that their higher education has produced the accepted teachings of evolution which reduces God to a monkey. Yet, have we not been made in God’s image? Modern man boast about many things for he says: I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing. (See Revelation 3:14-22) Yet, he is completely unaware of his true condition because he’s being led astray by the blind guides. For the old religions to become credible to a fallen world, then they have integrated the teachings of man into their holy doctrine. Then the saying has come true: “Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit” (Matthew 15:14). The great apostasy is upon us! To this day I have no problem going to a doctor for a physical (proven biological) problem but still ultimately trust in God to bring the healing. But I will never go to a mental health professional to solve an emotional or psychological problem even if I am incarcerated or persecuted to death. I will never take his drugs or his therapeutic counsel. On the other hand, I will search the Holy Scriptures believing that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness. (See II Peter 1:3) I have learned the power of prayer. I have learned the power of faith. I have experienced great joy by leaning on Him alone!
In a godless world it would be impossible to never feel down, depressed, lonely, or anxious. In a wicked world it would be nearly impossible to never feel anger, jealously, bitterness, or many other besetting sins. However, for the true believer in Christ these feelings or besetting sins are very short lived, because we have learned the importance of repentance and the power of forgiveness as we cry out to God. We have learned the secret of rejoicing in the Lord always and being thankful in all things. “And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). God never leaves the true believer alone. Through His indwelling Spirit we are always comforted in the times of sorrow, strengthened in the time of weakness, and encouraged in the times of indecision. For the true believer in Christ we have become accustomed to seeing His hand working in our life through various circumstances either for discipline or guidance. Is this not along with many other proofs knowledge that Jesus Christ knows us? To be known by Him is great joy and the assurance of our salvation. I am afraid that those who have rejected God’s love by no longer trusting in His Son will turn to the world for its counsel on how to live the bountiful life. They will neither know Him or be known by Him and will be counted among those who have fallen away in the midst of the great apostasy.
One final word: let me be very clear about one thing. If you are one who has been on psychiatric drugs for some time seeking a solution from the world for your problems, then I must warn you that it will take some time through proper rehabilitation to get you off of your drugs. The good news is that you can begin immediately trusting in God by searching the Scriptures to see if these things are so. I have used the statistics from many different agencies to show not only the abuse but the danger from taking their psychiatric drugs. There is hardly a day that goes by where we don’t hear of another individual on these drugs, being counseled by the professionals doing the unthinkable. I call on all Christians everywhere to sound the alarm and rescue those who have fallen away. Let’s begin a movement within Christendom to return to classic Christianity by trusting in Jesus Christ alone, for indeed He came to set the captives free!
