Bad things happen because of the rebellion against a Holy God. The rebellion is alive and well reaching to the depths of the human heart. Every area of society including the church has been sorely affected by this rebellion. This rebellion is as old as the fall of humanity that was seduced by the devil and the powers of darkness. It was a dark day indeed that inevitably tarnished God’s beautiful creation. The heart of mankind has not been the same since and never will be apart from the recreative act of a merciful and loving God. The Bible says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). This is good news for those who have been truly transformed in Christ. On the other hand, the remainder of humanity will continue to go from bad to worse experiencing the trauma of being cut off from a loving God and being controlled by the powers of darkness. The depth of this control will be examined to demonstrate how aggressively the chains of bondage have increased blinding almost all of humanity. This was accomplished by deception causing them to misunderstand the consequences of their sins.

Humanity since the beginning, from the first spark of creation, was given free will by a loving and gracious God. Along with this freedom to choose, God gave His children certain warnings by establishing certain boundaries. We all know the story of the fall where His children ignored the warnings and breached the boundaries by listening to the temptation of the old devil (Genesis 3:1-24). The devil long before the creation of man had also resisted the boundaries established by God for the entire created universe, so he was thrown out of heaven (Revelation 12:7-9). The devil was not satisfied with drawing a large number of angles from heaven but also sought to bring all of humanity with him to experience free will with no boundaries. Although the devil has known of his eternal fate in the fiery pits of hell, it has not deterred him from breaching the boundaries. Nor has it deterred him from deceiving all of humanity to follow him in his quest for unchecked free will with no boundaries. Simply put, the deception is convincing humanity that they will enjoy free will by breaching the boundaries established by God without consequences. That is the deception clear and simple, the devil says, “There will be no consequences,” and humanity has believed it (Genesis 3:4-5).

The only way to stand against the rebellion and not allow it to carry humanity into the depths of immortality is to expose the deception that says there are no consequences. The Bible says, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap” Galatians 6:7). Once humanity exercises its free will, then doing or thinking anything apart from God’s will has immediate consequences. The world simply does not understand that truth. They may understand if they break man’s law that there will be immediate consequences if they are caught, but they do not understand the immediate consequences from God. These consequences are both personal and corporate, that is, they individually affect each person and also it affects every person on the planet corporately. We are seeing both of these consequences increasing exponentially. They are increasing because humanity as a whole has turned away from God. They have not only rejected his commandments, but they have rejected His will. They have no desire to follow His will exclusively, which has led us to our present state. Unfortunately, the Lord’s prayer has become little more than an empty ritual or liturgy, that says, “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). To follow God’s will exclusively for your life is an important step for your transformation in Christ.

Until we return to following God’s will exclusively, then we will reap the consequences of following our own will. Until we return to following God’s will exclusively, then we are in rebellion against a Holy God. Dear children, this must be a personal choice for everyone on the planet. They cannot be forced or coerced by establishing more laws. This must be a free choice with an understanding that humanity will face the consequences of their actions or inactions. They will face the consequences of ignoring God’s will and doing their own (Matthew 7:21). We are now seeing the results of this on a planetary scale never before seen, since the great flood where God destroyed the whole world. The Bible says, “And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Genesis 6:5). This was the consequence of their sins. Passing and forcing the population to follow new laws will not remedy the situation. Electing the best political leaders will not remedy the situation. Overcoming evil empires by force will not remedy the situation. Doing everything possible to change the environment will not remedy the situation. Adhering to all the information in the world will not remedy the situation. Only one thing will accomplish this goal and stop the dire consequences. We must follow God’s will exclusively.

We talked about the solution last week, where we must be transformed in Christ so that we can know and follow God’s will for our lives. However, humanity will not accept that as truth because they deny that there are consequences for their behavior. So, how can we convince them? How can we convince the world that there are consequences for denying God and resisting His indwelling Spirit? I believe there are only two ways possible. The first way is the best through the proclamation of the Gospel where humanity would have their eyes opened through salvation in Christ. There is another way that will leave them dead in their sins destined for eternal damnation but could open their eyes enough to see that they and the planet are on a collision course with destiny. This later way is through the prophetic voice proclaiming the events just ahead if the whole world does not repent of following its insidious path to destruction. So, for the benefit of this later group, we will end on a prophetic note with the hope that it will open their eyes to see the path ahead. Hopefully, they will see that there is only one possible solution for themselves and the planet.

Perhaps the best words to describe the events that lie ahead are, “weird, out of the ordinary, otherworldly, or beyond belief.” We have already seen some of this in the changing weather patterns, not just in days but in hours, where the unusual pops up out of nowhere with no warning. We have seen sudden windstorms, hailstorms, dust storms, and sudden temperature changes. We have seen all the other anomalies and unexplained events that are stumping our most learned scientists. What’s on the horizon is even more bizarre and well beyond belief. Whole countries will be divided, others will fail, while others will arise with such tremendous power that it will shock the entire world. We are on the precipice of a great change that will attempt to purge Christianity completely from the bowels of the earth (Revelation 13:7). Satan will proclaim a brave new world where everyone is free to think whatever they want, living in the confines of their own minds, as long as they abide by the rules of the new world order. Only the faithful remnant will both inwardly and outwardly submit to God’s will as they learned from Holy Scripture (Romans 12:2). In the midst of the darkest days on earth, God’s remnant will continue to allow His light to shine brightly through them. Let us all keep sharing that the world is being deceived into thinking that there are no consequences from a Holy God. This is why bad things are happening!
